If you have some time, you can place ads online (craigslist.com and petfinder.org), and post fliers at your local pet stores, veterinarian clinics, and boarding/grooming kennels.

You can call your local animal shelter and veterinary clinics to see if they know of anyone looking for chow-chows. You could also look up your state's chow-chow breed rescue.

Find a No-Kill shelter near you on http://www.petfinder.com .. or even google "Chow Rescue in ___ (your state)" and see what pops up.

Post an AD on http://www.craigslist.org .. and see if a family can take them. Make sure you look at the families house and make sure both of your dogs are spayed/neutered and have a 100$ adoption fee (no less than 40$) .. to ward of puppymills/fighting rings. Ask alot of questions to the familes, and do not ship the dogs.

I hope you find a place!

Do a google search for Chow Chow rescue leagues and contact one of them and they will not put your dogs down but find them a new home.

Good luck!

Sorry about your loss. I know you will miss your dogs.

Post them on Craiglist.org. This is a great place to find a new home for your animals. They will go like hotcakes. But dont put them up for free. Ask for an adoption fee of like ten bucks, as a lot of crazies out there take free dogs and train their killer dogs to kill with the free animal being the bait, and they torture them to get their kicks.
You also have petfinder.com.
Oh and please dont take them to a kill shelter. ChowChows have a hard time getting adopted out, and may find themselves facing the gas chamber.
Good luck and hope all goes well with you.

If you are broke, how can you afford to be on the internet? Sorry just had to ask that question, as for your dogs well thats shitty you are giving up on your lifetime commitment to them. I suggest you contact your nearest local Chow Rescue club and see what they can do for you... http://www.chowwelfare.com/cciw/morersc.htm

if they are very good with strangers you may want to try a chow rescue.

be extremely careful - people will convince you they want the dogs as pets & will use for pit bull bail

Ask the human society about where you can find a NO KILL shelter. We did that with my son's dogs pups. They will adopt them to a good home and won't let them be killed. Explain your money problem and I'm sure they will help you. You can also search online for a NO KILL SHELTER in your area.

I'm so sorry to hear that. If you can't find anyone give them to a no-kill shelter. Defiantely do not put them to sleep no matter what. I'm sure it'll work out for you.
