Can it be? If I am eating well and exercising, but not over exercising to the point where I am collapsing/passing out, and I happen to have results, say 2 lbs a week...Is it healthy?

You see television shows like the Biggest Loser and Celebrity Fit Club...they lose weight like crazy but they have nutritionists saying that it's okay. Maybe not so much on Celebrity Fit Club (they warn their participants if they are losing too much too fast)...

Can it be healthy? Or is losing weight fast always bad?

For most people (under 200 pounds), losing 20 pounds in 2 months is NOT healthy.

First off, Biggest Loser and those TV shows are NOT real. The numbers on the scale are NOT always real, either. Don't believe everything you see.

Second, it's VERY different for someone weighing 300 pounds to loose 20 pounds in 2 months than it is for someone weighing 150 to do it.

In general, no, it's not healthy. And no, it's not long term.

On some diet and exercise regimes healthy weight loss can reach up to 10 pounds in the first two weeks. After the initial drop, weight loss naturally slows. After this point what is considered healthy is one to two pounds per week. Therefore 20 pounds in two months is definetly resonable.

Losing twenty pounds in two months is ambitious, but not necessarily impossible to do in a healthy way. The difference with those shows is that the contestants are constantly monitored by doctors, trainers, and nutritionists trained to know when they are going too far. I think you will be o.k., but you should check with your doctor to make sure your diet and exercise plan is healthy. Good luck.

If you're losing that much weight that fast it's not healthy. I hope you don't have a tapeworm or anything like that. Losing 20 lbs in two months is too fast unles you're morbidly obese.

It depends on how over weight you are if you are over 50 lbs over weight it is healthy but if you are way less than 50 lbs overweight than a lb (pound) a week is healthier.

I do not think it is bad at all. It just means you can lose weight faster than others. But I mean, if it is really bothering you then I would recommend you to go to a health nutritionist (a doctor would be better choice).
