There are pictures of me on the internet from when I competed at gymnastics nationals. I can't copy them to put on my computer because they are copyrighted. What are ways I can copy them because I believe they are rightfully mine, being that they are pictures of me from two years ago. Please help, I know there is a way but I forget how to do it.

It is illegal to copy copyrighted pictures. Just because you are in them, does not make them yours. Sorry.

You need to contact the person that took the photos and ask for copies and/or a copyright release.

I am not going to tell you how to violate the law. Copyright infringement hurts all photographers. It's just like you cannot make copies of, or use, photographs of you taken by a professional photographer, regardless of the fact that it is you in the photograph, without their express written consent.

And FYI, copyright lasts 50 years past the death of the photographer.

Like the others said, they are not your pictures, and you have no rights to them. It's illegal to copy the pictures from the site. Your best bet is asking nicely for the image files. Worst case scenario - the photog will want you to pay a bit for them, but that's highly unlikely.

They are not rightfully yours.

Contact the photographer or the website to inquire about purchasing them.

Contact the person that took the photos and ask if he will
e-mail copies to you. He will probably agree to it.
