For not obeying God. For being ungrateful. The only reason God didn't cast all of them into hell was because of His promise to people like Joseph.

disobedience to TRUST/believe GOD.
after 10 plaques..crossing the red sea..the pillar of fire by night..something by day..feed millions by morning with manna..give them water out of a stoney rock..feed them meat..all sort of miracles right there..and oddly.
they didint beleive GOD..will help them..fight GIANTS(goliath was a short giant of 10 feet tall..average jew was 5ft)
so truly what the did ws WALK BY SIGHT
not by "IN GOD WE TRUST". uf GID us for you..WHO can be against you? so they died because they had NO FAITH.
