to say that any Christian who doesn't share your beliefs isn't a "Real Christian".

This is hipocracy to the core.

I just wonder sometimes how Christians actually expect to bring in nonbelievers when they have hundreds of different denominations, sects and off shoots all with differing interpretations and beliefs about what a Christians is and at the same time preaching all the other Christian groups are Not "Real Christians".

Why does this tactic shock you?
It is exactly the same tactic Richard Dawkins uses when he says “If you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane.”

Yes, many alledged Christians use this form of putting others down. Yet I know of Christians that adhere to the Bible principle of "not calling down evil" on anyone. They have taken the position of recognizing, that all passing of judgment is not up to them, and neither the angels. The power to judge has been reserved for God.

So what I think is that any person calling themself a Christian, who is so self-deluded into thinking they are benifitting anyone by telling them "you aren't a real Christian", could possibly need to mature somewhat.

The question is the reason u don't share ur faith b/c ur ashamed of the gospel? Jesus said if u are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you when I go to my Father. The Word says to "Preach the gospel to every creature". But there are certain circumstances when u don't share ur beliefs with words, but ur actions. Sometimes the timing isn't right for certain words and sometimes there isn't a door open. Instead of looking at whether or not others are "real christians" we should take the plank out of our own eye before we take the speck out of our brothers. Some people like to bring up other peoples sin to keep eyes off of theirs.

I disagree when "Christians" use this tactic. The Bible says Judge not that ye be not judged-which means to me that GOD is the ultimate judge. The basic premise is salvation and knowing as well as believing that Jesus is the son of GOD. Now those that live how they want all through the week and then attend church, obviously, are living a double life and we are not supposed to do this if we are seeking true salvation. Either you are HOT or COLD because if luke warm, he will spew you out.

You don't have to necessarily share my beliefs, as far as doctrine, but you must love GOD and, again, believe that Jesus (the son of GOD) died for your sins that you might be saved.

I think it is dangerous to say that. We are not to judge our brothers in Christ. But, if someone knowingly sins and defends that sin as right, or doesn't trust Jesus as their only need to be saved, then they are not Christians. It is not hypocritical, to be a hypocrite you have to do the same things. I do sin, but I dont say its right when I do. I dont trust my own works as a way of salvation. So, when I say someone is not a True Christian then I am not being a hypocrite. Rather I am defending the word of God, and showing that person where the Bible says they are wrong.

Yeah, you're right.
The correct statement would be that any1 who doesn't follow Jesus' teachings as outlined in the scriptures isn't a "Real Christian".
Jesus himself showed that the religious leaders of his day had deviated from the scriptures and relied more heavily upon traditions.

There is a difference to believing who Jesus Christ is and acknowledging He is the son of God, and having a relationship with Jesus Christ though. I know a lot of Christians (Methodists, Catholics, Protestants, etc.) that go to church every Sunday and call themselves Christians, but they do not have a true relationship with Jesus Christ. I think that when a Christian says another is not a "real Christian", this may be what they mean.

Insulting someone is never they way to get them to see your point of view though, so if its being said as an insult, that is wrong.

A real Christian is someone who believes Jesus is the son of God and was resurrected from the dead and adheres to Jesus' teachings.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the light. No man cometh unto the father (God) but by me.

If you believe that --- you are a TRUE Christian. A follower of Christ. Period.

Fear of the other points of views. Many people don't want to face the fact that their pov may be wrong or they may have to share the title of being "right" with another group.
There's also the fact that there is the literal interpretation of texts and teachings and the metaphorical interpretations.

I totally agree, though I am not Christian, I can not understand why people would say that someone is not a "real Christian". You all believe that Jesus is the lord. I mean...what else is Christianity about?
