It's not like we hate homosexuals, it's just that that type of lifestyle is not seen as natural in the Church.

You know that old saying..."When you point a finger at someone else, there are 4 pointing back at you"?
Well, just as a preacher has no right to condemn or play "God", you shouldn't be making definitive statements that all Christians think the same. Not all Christians put gay people in those categories.
We are Christian with 2 gay family members. We love them with all our hearts.
Yes, the Bible speaks against the behavior of homosexuality...BUT, nowhere does it give us the right to be judge and jury to the gay community. Nowhere does it tell us not to love them. If God sees homosexuality as a sin, it is up to him to determine the fate of a gay individual, not mine or anyone else's. In the end, it is between each of us and God as to how we lived our lives. God is very clear that he is the one who makes the decisions, not us. As one poster put it, Jesus drew people to him through love. Read the New Testament...he didn't hang out with the cream of the crop, he spent time with all sorts of people, and loved them all equally.
Consider going to church more than once (try new churches) and you'll have a chance to get a more rounded view of what a Christian really is. See the preacher for what he was...one single man, human, fallible.....not the entire Christian community. I am sorry you had such a bad experience.

People make those decisions all the time. I'm watching a show right now where they are exposing child predators. These people choose to have sex with children and know what people will do to them. Homosexuals the same as rapists and murders? I didn't hear the sermon that you did, but God sees sin as sin. If I tell a white lie, it's in the same category as any sin because it's sin. Also, there are many places in the Bible where the Bible speaks against the sin of homosexuality. Sodom and Gomorrah are the first example and they are not the last.

The answer is very simple
God hates homosexuality
This depraved sexual practice has no spiritual component to it, but is worse than the rutting of beasts.
All "People of the Book" know this
Those apostates who deny this do so at their own peril
God has never punished a people to the degree that he visited upon the sinners of Sodom and Gomorrah!
The move towards ordaining homosexual ministers is a symptom of the decadence within the church and an indication that Shaitan has a foothold there.
Is it any wonder that so many people are leaving the church and converting to Islam!

Homosexuals aren't in the same category as rapists and murderers, but God didn't intend on two men being together, or two women....i don't have a problem with them....i've always treated them with respect, and i've even had friends who were homosexuals....and they were the sweetest people i could ever hope to meet.... they knew I didn't agree with their lifestyle, but i wouldn't judge them....that's not my place..

Anyone that chooses to "remain " in sin and not repent
(=being sorry for what one did and not doing it again),no matter, what the sin is, may it be lying or stealing or whatever, the bible says , that they will have their place in the lake of fire.
That is not an inventions of Christians, but it is the Word of God. They are just saying , what God has to say to it.
And as far as people doing horrible things to them, that's wrong, and always will be, Jesus loved the sinner, and so should we. Jesus drew people to Him with love.

Christians don't have a problem with homosexuals; the preacher you speak of does. Direct your questions to him, not christians.

Well, there is sodomy which is condemned, and then there is the whole principle of man and woman becoming one flesh and the purpose of sex for procreation , not as a plaything for anyone. Oh yes, the problem is with homosexuality not with the practicioners.

Lying, Murder, Sexual Immorality, Adultery, Idolatry, etc... To God, it is is all Sin it is not a degree, you either obeyed God or your didn't. As for why people would choose to be Gay, could be a mental disease, Homonal Imbalance, Reaction to being molested as a child, a feeling of pleasure derived from sodomy, etc...

God gave everyone a set of tools to be used in a very obvious and useful manner. Had He meant for a penis to go in an anus, men would be procreating. Had He meant for a dildo to go in a vagina, women would be. See, that's the problem in a nutshell. So, in angst, He created AIDS to try and fix things. He's proficient and solves big problems with obvious answers. The problem is that people defy Him.
