I'm very hesitant about starting a diet because I would be so vulnerable to returning to really unhealthy habits but after about a 2 year hiatus from dieting, I have gained much weight-- so I need to start again.

My stats:

Female
5'7"
165lbs

My lowest weight was about 95lbs and now I am at my highest-- 165. What is a good weight range to be targeting, for my height? I am thinking between 110 and 130, but I am not really sure.

What do you think?

Maybe 140 at the least. Try and run to get that weight off. Do it the healthy way.

120-140 is normal for us I'm the same height and weigh about the same you do. Please be careful if you do chose to lose it because yes its so easy to slip into those habits again be sure to eat regular healthy meals just a little less watch your portions of every day food instead of dieting. One thing that helps me and it may sound stupid is to use a smaller plate like the sandwich plates that in most houses collect dust. I serve my dinners on them that way they look fuller and I am actually eating less than what I would on a bigger plate. Its a mind trick youdon't think about the size of the plate because you saw it so full a few miniutes ago you can't eat it all. Don't ask how but it works for me I've lost quite a bit by doing that and so has my husband

I think 120-130 would be good. You would do good to take up some kind of sport, or start walking an hour per day. Do that in conjunction with eating about 300 calories less than you need to daily, and go back to normal when you get to your ideal weight. Good night!

i have lived with anorexia and bulimia for many years now and still do. i agree, i would feel wary to get back into any kind of dieting habits that might trigger you to fall back to your eating disorder. have you thought of seeing a nutritionist or someone to help you with a steady and healthy eating/exercise routine? i think that would be best. as far as a healthy weight range, i think you should base that on your overall health and how you feel mentally and physically. this site here helps you calculate height/weight and see where your bmi range stands - http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

good luck to you and i'm here if you need any support! :)

I don't think you need to lose weight or diet. Just eat healthy foods, get enough protein, and exercise 4-5 times a week. Go for healthy & fit, rather than thin

i just checked a bmi chart, and anywhere between 121 and 159 is considered average for your height. so you really only need to lose about 5-10 pounds, 15 tops if you wanna look really good.

For your height you should weight between 121-160lbs!! Right now your BMI is 25.8 which is a little bit overweight, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 - 24.9 and a overweight BMI is between 25 - 29.9!! I hope this helps!!
