I've found toothpaste to be helpful in calming it down. In fact, it worked as well as or better than many products I paid a lot more money for. "Paste" is better than "gel." Dab it lightly and blend it right in; it should disappear fairly well. Best used at night if you think it might show. Fluoride won't hurt!

The best quick treatment of a zit is toothpaste.... Of course dont use it as a permanent long term face care, but using toothpaste once or twice is not going to hurt anything. It makes the redness go away and shrinks it down a little.
right now i have toothpaste on some new pimples that decided to creep up on me yesterday!

If the pimple has pus, wash and rinse your face w/warm water using your fingers. Keep a warm compress on the pimple and don't squeeze it! The pus will come out on its own. If its skin colored, toothpaste won't do anything except irritate your skin. You can get a cortisone shot from your dermatologist. Or you can saturate a cotton ball w/rubbing alcohol and put it on the pimple. Keep doing this. It will take awhile, but it will go away. Keep your face clean and keep your fingers away from the pimple.

no not okay. dont use toothpaste ever. toothpaste with fluoride especially dries the pimple by dehydrating the inside of the zit. go out and buy an effective acne treatment such as Differin or Aquaphor(i think thats the name). dont ever try shortcuts when dealing with pimples

No that won't work. you have the pimple now. but in future try these products. to having healthier skin. You skin is an investment you show your face off to the world. Why not keep it glowing and healthy.
Try Serious Skin Care you can find it on the web.

I would remove any pus from it, clean it with warm water and soap, let it dry and then cover it with Oxy 5 and it will be diminished or reduced greatly in the morning.

Yes, but don't use it to often, as it will dry the area, making it flaky.
I usually tell peopleto use acne cream, such as Clearasil.
