I was trying to find a link to a story for this answer, but I can't find the story on-line.

The story is about how we often focus on the final destination. When I retire, I will do ..., or I'm working towards earning so much money, or my goal is to do such and such. (these are not the actual words, but the synopsis of the story). What these people forget is that life is about the journey towards that destination.

I firmly believe that each of us are here for a purpose, good and bad. And that what we bring to this earth is what we do during our time on this earth.

Sure, all of us are going to die, but I plan on making the most of my life while I'm here.

At one point in my life I was suicidal, but I made an agreement with God, that I would allow him to make the decision on when I should die and to live my life the best I can until that time. I'm blessed since then. I'm married, with two children, just got a degree and have a home, food in my stomache and in my cupboard. We're not rich by any means, but we're still very blessed.

So, life is what you make of it.

The purpose of earth life is to develop a better understanding of the principles of happiness. That's why our Heavenly Father allows competing "truths" and allows conditions where people make both good and bad decisions.

To illustrate, consider that I tell my children not to lie and why this is important. I hope they'll understand and obey, but they will probably gain additional insight as they experience what happens when a relationship is damaged through dishonesty.

Through experiencing the conditions of earth life, we can hopefully develop a better understanding of the difference between right and wrong, truth and error.

This isn't speculation on my part. There are once again living prophets of God who have the answers to many of life's most significant questions. Take a look at some of the videos at the web site below for more details.

It falls on us each to decide that.

Most of us are given a quantity of years to live on this planet. During that time, at some point we discover that our time of conscious awareness of ourselves and of our universe is limited.

However, we have psychological protection from that thought built into our brains. We can focus on the here and now. And by so doing, we can develop the capacity as we are ready to look death of ourselves and our loved ones squarely in the eye.

That then leaves with our remaining days. How should we spend them? This is perhaps the chief question in spirituality. We have experienced no pain from not existing during the first 4 billion years of this planet, and after our death we will once more not mourn our own departure. It is only while we live that we feel the need to decide a direction for the brief moment we exist. Most people find some answer, either handed them by their culture or discovered on their own. You can take some time to decide, but don't let it fester for long. You may end up spending the largest number of your days in cognitive limbo. Actions are better than inaction in any instance.

The point of living is in the act of living itself. Loving, being, caring, giving, working, and all of it. Why do you live only to look forward to death so you can go to heaven? THAT makes no sense to me at all. Do you also read the ending of a book before the rest of the book itself?

The point of living is to get to know our creator, the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, our bodies will die, but our spirits are going to live somewhere for eternity. We get to decide where while we're here.

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam put it better than I've been able to on my own. I forget the song, but the qoute is: "I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine."

The point of life? That's easy! Love your family and friends. Laugh as often as you're able to. Be thankful of every single day you're able to breathe. Learn, love, and appreciate. Stand by your values unshakably: For without them, you have no identity.

the point of our living is to obey God word because its our duty.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

and love God

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

and it reward you to have eternal life with God that cannot lie

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

It all depends on what you believe in.

If you believe that after life there is nothing then the point of living would be to enjoy the now.

But generally in religion the poiunt of living is to please God. Sort of a means to and end or a test. If you pass the test you get heaven and if you fail you get Hell.

Someone asked me if I choose to be born. I struggled with it and then I realized, Life is not a choice, but a Gift from God.

Ask yourself, what is the purpose or the "point" (if you want to say it that way) of why you and I live? it's because we are God's most beautiful creation.
God in itself is a relationship(A Trinity to be exact). That's why He said these words:

"Let 'us' make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

The point of living is not to pursue your own self perfection, but to have the deepest and most loving relationship for the one who created You and all of Humanity.

God Bless...
