Recovery from my exercise takes longer and longer. I am also more prone to injury and that takes longer and longer to heal.

What are the best regular exercise for people getting too olde for strenuous activity ?

If you are having injuries, it's time to change.

Swimming if you have access to a pool and you like water (I have never liked swimming!). It is perhaps the lowest impact.

Riding a bicycle can be very rewarding.

Walking at a brisk pace has proven to be very beneficial without all the impact injury problems of jogging/running.

Are you exercising every day? How long? Perhaps you really are 'overdoing' it? If you are over 50 and working out more than an hour a day, it may be a little over the top.

Bella is right. water is perfect for low impact exercise, and the drag of the water makes any movement more beneficial. Or you can help me break this dang horse. You don't have to peddle and you use all kinds of muscles just hanging on.
