some people don't go to doctors and won't even let their children have the medical threatment they need because of silly religious superstitions. That's why we have dial-a-court-order for religious fruitcake parents who won't let their kid who is bleeding to death have a blood transfusion

Unless of course,as some Xians have stated previously, God called the Doctors to become healers. Some have talents to be a composer, some a poet, some are really good at sports, and others, *gasp* at science. Rejecting science isn't a requirement of being religious, nor is accepting everything that is spouted by the amazing Randi a requirement of being an Atheist.
So, unfortunately, this is just another Non-argument, on a similar level with Pascals wager...

The power of God can not be used on oneself. so if i was a pastor, i could not use the power of God on myself. that is a job for another person. and just asking God isn't enough all the time. He does not go the whole way he meets us half way. remember without God Man is Nothing? so that means that the going to the doctor works not because the doctors. its because God allows it to work.

Our Brother Luke in the bible was a physician. The Lord chose one to follow Him. He has nothing against doctors and is not threatened by them. Sometimes the Lord will heal us directly because it is according to His will to do so. Sometimes through a physician you can get a cure for your sickness. Some would say that this is to not have faith and doubt God. The word tells us that in all our ways to acknowledge God and He will direct our path. If the Lord is leading you to believe Him to heal your body then do that if He leads you to go see a doctor then do that too. I do not think that most christian mothers had their babies on their own.. they most certainly went to a physician. God is not petty. He has no insecurities about you going to see a doctor.

Knowing you only put up sarcasm (wisdom and sarcasm are not equal) I will still answer. Since God gave us each different skills and God has given some the skills to work as healers( doctors) we go to the doctor and also pray. We pray that God helps the injured person and that God helps the doctor with his work ( steady hands etc.) You have picked a good icon for yourself.

God created us as intelligent beings and gave us the ability to create medicines and learn how to repair our bodies. There is nothing wrong with applying this knowledge and ability towards physical healing. Doctors can be viewed as God’s gift to us…a means through which God brings healing and recovery. At the same time, our ultimate faith and trust is to be in God, not doctors or medicine. As with all the difficult decisions we face in life, God promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it (James 1:5).

Doctors have no more "power" than any other human, just the knowledge and expertise in medicine. Pastors don't possess any powers as well, they have gifts of the Spirit (teaching, preaching, etc.) bestowed by God. All healing comes through God alone. He determines who is healed and who is not. He is totally sovereign.

God uses doctors to help people. My surgeon told me he was the clay and God was the potter-that he could do nothing without God's help.
(Not all doctors are good or guided by God...let me make that clear. There are alot of quacks out there...some that I still owe money to supposedly.)
But God gave people the knowledge to save lives and that's what alot of them do.
We are to help one another as Christians and do things to help. Obviously doctors are geting paid for their services (most of them) but they are still helping to provide a service.
However, miracles happen all the time that baffles the doctors. We had a lady in our church who's cancer vanished overnight and the doctors had no answer to why. (They couldn't explain it medically...they knew it must have been a miracle from God.)

Pastors, along with other Christians, do pray to God when they are sick. And God answers their prayers by providing them with a skilled doctor to help them. Why does He do it this way ? When you're God you can do it anyway you want.

You're overthinking this.
God controls everything.
So God gave the doctors the ability to invent medicines..and the ability to diagnose patients..and then give them the medicine.
So you want to know why God doesn't just stop the diseases? Well back in Bible times, missionaries were sent all around the world to all the people. The people wouldn't accept Christ, so they suffered. People today still don't trust Him so they suffer.
And sometimes Christians suffer. That's because their suffering will always make some else stronger and encourage them.
Everything has a reason.

They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick -Matthew 9:12.
Jesus teaches that if you are sick go to a doctor, DUH!!!
Only God can heal some things. You should maybe ask your doctor next time you see him.
