Alert parents to him and tell management. Looking at kids is not a crime, unfortunately, however I doubt it ends with looking. This may very well be the beginning of a plan to harm a child.
I don't know that I would have said something to him. Did you do it right? For the most part, although its hard for anyone to judge if you should have said something or not because none of us saw how he was looking at the kids. If I saw someone that I had no doubt about their intention, I probably would have said something as well.
I would also alert the police in that area, for all you know he could be on a Meagan's Law website somewhere and have a history of abusing children.
Edited to add:
To those of you who think she was paranoid take a look at this webiste. http://www.rasac.org/education/statistics.html It is estimated that there are 60 million....60 MILLION...... survivors of Childhood sex abuse.
250,000-500,000 pedophiles reside in the United States
Take a look at the site. Alarming!

Its good to be vigilant, but there is a line and getting in peoples faces about innocent and totally legal activities is over that line in my opinion.
I see alot of single guys skating all nights of the week. This guy goes on kids night and hes a perv?
People, sometimes a guy skating , is just a guy skating. There are alot better places for a child predator to go to get off on kids than the ice rink.
Someone wrote:
"There's no reason a grown man needs to be going alone to a place like that."
That's BS. The guy wants to skate. It can be great exercise. Maybe he has an underlying injury or ailment that doesn't allow more strenuous activity. Just a thought.

Did you do the right thing?
Well, that depends on how much money you have and what you did besides this.
The reason I answered as I did is that you put yourself in a position of being sued for Slander by your public comments and any further action which was based on nothing more than a suspicion.
the next time you feel the urge to show your legal ignorance, I would suggest you either quietly inform the management of your concerns or keep them to yourself.
You are making of assumptions and leaps that if a person acts in a particular way they MUST be guilty. I have a feeling if your father acted in such a way he'd be looking for a new job.
And just so you know, I am an attorney. And I would advise you the same were you in my office.

Your Father can and should have investigated this guy if he is actually employed by a sheriff's office...he might have been out of his jurisdiction but trust me he still has the ability to handle such situations..if you feel so strongly about this guy ..go talk to your dad and ask him to either speak to managment or to have the local sheriff's office stop in and check the guy out during his next visit... if the guy is a pervert I'm sure he will get the message fairly quick and keep away from the skating rink, if he is a registered sex offender or worse he might get a free ride back to jail for a violation...regardless... if he is a pervert sucks to be him, and if he is legitimate and not a pervert, he should understand you are simply looking out for the kids... at any rate if you are a juvenile you shouldn't take matters in your own hands..let dad do the deed.... GOOD LUCK

First of all, pay no heed to Princess Jessica. Looking at kids may not be a crime, but the fact that he comes only on kids' night to look at kids the way he does already has me suspicious.
Observe his actions and try to get a good look at how he's staring. Is he touching himself or looking at the kids the way a normal man would look at a beautiful woman from across the room? Try talking to him in private, and ask him what he's thinking when looking. If he gets all defensive and says it's none of your business, (many child molestors won't openly admit to wanting to touch kids) that's another red flag. Then I would go around and speak privately to the parents of the regulars, and also take this to management. You can try to get to know him (his name, does he live on your street, etc) so you can take this to the police later on.
This guy sounds like a creep, and when he says he's looking at the ground, another red flag. It's clearly a lie.

I applaud you for doing the right thing first of all, when you took it upon yourself to do the brave thing, and that's to let this man know that he is now sitting under a microscope. so the next thing is to make sure you call the police's attention to this guy because oftentimes when we take situations like this lightly another kid comes up missing and its too late by then. Next I am telling you and anyone else who is reading this to be more aware of what and who is in your local neighborhood ,by going to app.com and scrolling down to Data Universe and click it on and go to the sex offenders website so you will become more familiar with the faces of all of the sex offenders in your area so that you will be able to spot them not only at the skating rink ,but also anywhere you may happen to be and then you will be able to protect yourself and others around you ,by calling a responsible persons attention to the individual as soon as possible because i do it all the time,so please get informed as much as possible for your sake and others as well as mine, because one day you may have to protect my child as well. Thank you for keeping your perception in tact because we need more people on the watch out for circumstances such as this. Signed Deborah J

If you see him again, take his picture. Make it look like you are taking a picture of the kids. If you can get his car plate number. Keep him in your sight but more importantly keep the kids in your sight at all times.
Princes Jessica is wrong, pay her no mind, it is people like her that make it easier for those monsters to hurt the kids. Most child molesters are men.

First, contact the owners/managers of the skating rink and tell them about your suspicions. They should take the appropriate action.
However, if the man touches your child in any way, call the police immediately and report him. They will take care of him.
Best of luck.

You're dad doesn't know what to do? Perhaps his detective instinct were not aroused but you, the super sleuth really know what is going on?
Was the guy touching himself? Did he have a rubber band around his wrist that he kept snapping when he looked at the kids (ask your detective dad he'll tell you what it means).
There is nothing wrong with acting on your suspicion, you talk to security or management, you do not act on your own and you do not convince yourself that something is going on until you have something.

You did good. There's no reason a grown man needs to be going alone to a place like that. You also did well by making him aware that someone is on to him. People like that prize total anonymity. Your "noise" alone might be enough to drive him out of that place.
