The brain's awareness and feelings are YOU! Do you feel things are real in a dream? Do you feel that your imagination is real? Imagination is "conjured" up at your will but you can imagine things that are unreal as well as real. The only time the conscious experiences of the brain can possibly be considered other than the experiences of the brain's owner is in an hallucination. And in an hallucination the feelings and experiences are not considered OTHER by most Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
There is, however, a sub- or un-conscious part of the brain which is active but of which the owner is not aware. You can prove this to yourself by considering how an alarm clock awakens you in the morning. You are asleep, unconscious, dead to any sensation, yet when that alarm goes off some part of you that you are not conscious of somehow senses it and returns you to consciousness. This non conscious awareness is your unconscious mind. How that unconscious mind is related to dreaming (and hallucinating) i do not know and if you find out please tell me.
The unconscious mind is, I think, still considered a part of YOU and not an OTHER by most mental health professionals. Is a dream or an hallucination willed by your subconscious YOU or by an OTHER?

That depends on the type of dream. During most dreams, you generally do believe what you are experiencing to be real. However there is a certain class of dreams, called "lucid dreams", where you retain your conscious mind. These dreams are rare, but through discipline and training you can increase the percentage of lucid dreams you experience. During a lucid dream, you are fully aware that what you are seeing is a dream, and with some willpower you will find yourself fully capable of controlling all aspects of your dreamscape. Occasionally these can take a rather disturbing twist, when you realize you're dreaming, but are unable to awaken. (If this ever happens, just wait it out--lucid dream states never last longer than 10 minutes.)

Something like a dream that is not in the physical world is not less real than something in the physical world. If you die and go to heaven, that is not in the physical world. Does that make it not real. See site below for more on this from cosmology.

yes. sometimes things can be cartoonish and you could wake up laughing, things could be sorta real and you wake up with the sweats, or they can be more vivid than real life and you wake up in tears.
