I've been following Jeff Gordon since his first initial rookie year with Nascar. I was his #1 fan then and still am today. His style of driving is beyond great and is a "seat-edger" to watch.Unfortunate that I now live in the UK and don't get to see the races as often.

As far as modron day NASCAR driver goes I would have to say Gordon.Overall driver Tony has them beat hands done....the guy is great in every form of racing. All time driver would be Petty, most of the stars of today wouldn't have a chance in the old days.

Although not my favorite, I'd say Jeff Gordon or Carl Edwards. Not only are they good asphalt drivers but they are awesome on dirt too. Look at the results from the "Prelude to the Dream" in Eldora. By the way, that track is owned by Tony Stewart.

David Pearson is the greatest of all time...Now? It is too hard to say. Today, the equipment wins the race most of the time. I don't see many examples where the driver wins the race at all anymore.

Looking just at pure intuitive driving skill, Tony Stewart is the obvious answer. Unfortunately his thuggish personality and childish tantrums get in the way of his success. So I'd have to say Jeff Gordon. Although I like to think that my man Mark Martin is a very close second given equally good equipment and crew support.
