The word "priest" is all over the Bible. But even if it wasn't, no matter. The Catholic Church was given full earthly authority by Christ Himself -- what you bind on earth, and all that.

The key words in your question are "modern churches." The true Church that Jesus started should be at least 2,000 years old...far from modern. There is only one that I know of and it is called Catholic.

Many churches do have them. Episcopals, Methodists, etc. There are a lot of them, only a few churches don't have bishopes.

if we go by scripture, what jesus said and his promise of the holy spirit then there would be no need for this question, we would all be catholic and have the beauty and fullness of truth found only in the catholic church. i hope and pray our seperated brothers and sisters in christ begin to realize this soon. for those brothers and sisters reading please don't be offended this is my humble opinion and i am glad you seek our savior.
