I could give you funny quotes, inspirational quotes, insulting quotes, and any other kind you can imagine, but you ASKED what my favorite was. I am glad for the opportunity to share it with you!
Just before Moses died, he told the still-wandering Israelites,
"Be strong and brave.........The Lord your God will go with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
There have been many times, my friend, when knowing this and telling it to myself, has been the only thing that kept me going when I felt that keeping on was impossible; my lostness has at times been so overwhelming that only my faith in God's love and these words has returned me to the place where I belong.

"My orders are to fight;
Then if I bleed, or fail,
Or strongly win, what matters it?
God only doth prevail.
The servant craveth naught
Except to serve with might.
I was not told to win or lose.
My orders are to fight."
--Ethelwyn Wetherald (1857-1940)
This is the motto I try to remember every day....it's too easy to get caught up in what people think. What we have to remember is that there is a much larger picture, and we must simply do every day those things that are given us to do. Our orders are "to fight" - not to "be successful".....true success is something that is well above the heads of many people who would like to think they can determine if we are successful or not.
It is best left to our Creator.
God Bless.

My favourite book is "The Lovely Bones" and it's about a girl who gets killed and goes to heaven. She then narrates her family from above and talks about how they are dealing with her death. She also watches her murderer. One quote I really liked went something like this; "fold the corners of yourself and tuck them under where noone can see". It's about how her sister handled her grief. Her sister who was only one year younger doesn't let anybody know she's in pain. She keeps everything in. I like it because it reminds me of myself.

Ahhh there's so many. But my 10th grade English teacher loved this quote and used it all the time. I believe it's from Tale of Two Cities.
"You don't have to be perfect to be good"
It's so true.
