1 Cor 3:16 (or if not 2 Cor 3:16)

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

So yes He died and came back alive in 3 days...

Also the temple did take a hit a on the day He died, read matthews account of it... The temple curtain was ripped from top to bottom (the curtain that separated the inner sanctum from the Holy of Holies)

Jesus was referring to his body which was the temple of the Holy Spirit on earth at the time. Men had not yet receive the Spirit of God inside them yet because the Lord Jesus had not died, raised from death and ascended back into heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to men here to Earth because no men had been able to receive Him yet.., but it happened on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. The temple built by men was not what He was talking about.
Every word that came out of Jesus' mouth was "THE truth" and not for the moment; like for the circumstances at present, although that was true also. What He said is STILL TRUE and always will be!
Death couldn't hold Him since he was free from sin and ONLY sin brings death!

Karen If you have read the entire chapter you will find that those around Him thought that that was what He meant but that He meant He would die and rise again in three days.

Yes. He proved who He was. Anyone who didn't believe was a fool. And those who don't today still are.
