Sorry Wal Mart did not get approval for what is known as an Industrial Bank. They wanted the charter to be able to process the credit card business....of course it would save them millions. Under our business system i see no problem with a corporation, if done legal, that it continues to provide more and more services, specially when they can do it better and in many cases, like Wal Mart, at a better price/deal for the consumer....Since they did not get approval Wal Mart will not offer a servies of financial services through 'other parties'' and special partnerships...I wish them luck and the best.
I for one are ready to use the services they provide...do most of my shopping there...great place

They recognize you and that they value your agency. This latest courting would desire to hold some weight while searching for credit. If all else fails, you could observe for secured credit (lower back at an area economic business enterprise or credit union). There, you could have a credit cut back linked to an account that the lender can take the money from in case you do not pay your invoice. in case you could desire to pass this direction, purely make advantageous the economic business enterprise comments the secured mastercard to the credit reporting companies. I heard FDIC wasnt going to approve their application to be a bank. If they are FDIC insured they can take deposits and open checking accounts and do loans.
Latest I heard last week they withdrew their application and are only going to be a prepaid credit card company. Or offer credit cards.
Totally different then a bank. They cant open checking accounts or savings accounts, they cant do loans (mortgage, cars), only credit cards.

Thats scary. Walmart is like the oil companies of the old days or the phone companies of the old (not that old) days, that monopolize everything. I hope they end up getting broken iup like the phone companies did. why don't you not go to Walmart just go to other stores.

Hellfire...NO!
It's bad enough that there are several Wally-Worlds in the city selling general merchandise (they have been refused licenses to sell grocery items here in Canada).
If they were good Corporate citizens, maybe I wouldn't mind, but they spend more in legal fees every year than they do in charity or "good acts"...several times to one, actually. All of them to fight fines and civil judgemets.
