There are still many of us who remember what it was to live in a nation whose God was the Lord...
We have watched our beloved country fall farther and farther away from Him, and we have watched as more and more young people are brainwashed by our Adversary...
Some of us have raised our voices in protest, but as time goes by, we are becoming fewer...and fewer...
We have watched in horror as our faith has become something to laugh at, as televangelists have made merchandise of God's people, as abuse and violence have become so commonplace as to arouse no reaction in even the most compassionate, as love has become a dirty word and marriage a complete sham, as false prophets and false Christs have appeared everywhere, bringing new doctrines that our fathers had never heard of with them...we have watched, we have wept...and we have prayed...
Prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes...
Know, then, that it is given unto the beast to make war with the saints...and overcome them...
Do not be afraid as you see this happening, as we know it was foretold. Rejoice, and look up...it won't be long, now.

What a tough question! I can read the conflicted feelings you are having. There are 2 things..1) This man has a mixture of motives and inner drives that lead him to do what he's doing. There appear to be two sides to him and his character (his involvement in your life and the positive impact that he had) and his "twisted" self, leaving behind a wife and children. 2) This is a reminder that when we substitute leadership of a person rather than being led by Christ alone....we are disappointed and easily become disillusioned. When we develop a relationship with the living Lord Jesus Christ we can accept the human limits, weaknesses, failures and successes as well of other humans with a proper perspective.

People would be alot more "moral" and our country would be closer to God's graces if everyone would let everyone else believe what they choose to believe. If you believe in Jesus, good for you. I don't, and that is good for me. Perhaps the real reason people seem farther from God is because Christians (some) believe and say the only way anyone can have any godliness in them is to follow the Christian path. This isn't really true. It would be nice to know that everyone could get along and let people believe what they choose.

I have felt this way for sometime now. I see us as a country being way too accepting of other beliefs and practices. I think we are so afraid of offending others that we have literally gone astray from what God intended us to be. Because a few have been offended by Christian symbols in courthouses, and other public places, we simply remove them, for example prayer in School, I wonder if these folks would like to discard our currency as well, as it says in God we trust. I also feel that these social issues that are constantly developing stem from the dissapointment that God has in us going away from his word. WE are a blessed nation we need to be thankful of that, and be true to God and his word.

No, the biggest problem is christians fighting to destroy freedom, art, science, sex, and basically everything that makes life worthwhile.
Why are christians overrepresented in the prison population, while atheists are underrepresented? Why is it that the more educated a person is, the less likely they are to believe in your god?

No. It has nothing to do with God. It's our inability to take responsibility for our own actions and a misguided sense of entitlement.

*Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
The born again believer cannot fall...God keeps us from falling. The ruler of this world is Satan and Satan will do everything he can to keep God's word and truth away from mankind.
*Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
*Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
God will not always strive with man...
*Psalm 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
God is long suffering, but man will pay...
*Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

It's this cute little thing called "Separation of Church and state," because not everyone holds the same beliefs, why enforce one religion on an entire nation of diversity?
