I have seen a few questions here in the past that the "DOG section has the most rudest people over all on YA's. So you tell me, what do you think the percentage is ?

I don't see it as I have seen others state. I think there is only about 2% of the people on "DOGS" that are rude. Very small %.

I agree on the bluntness being mistaken for being rude. At times it is really hard to get a point across only in a nice way!!

There can be some rudeness here, and I myself have been rude to a couple of people who I thought were stupid beyond all hope. There are just some questions that absolutely make me cringe.
When people come on here and say thing like "I bred my dog last week, how long will she be pregnant?" Well, they should have found that out BEFORE they bred the dog! If they don't even know how long the dog is pregnant for, what are the odds they knew they needed to do OFA, CERF, BAER, and other genetic/health tests?
When people come on here and ask "where can I buy a T-Cup (fill in the blank) for less than $200, or free or whatever...." Well, that's ridiculous. There's no such thing as a T-Cup ANYTHING in the dog world. (Go ahead and give me 500 thumbs downs all you back yard breeders out there.)
But for the most part, there's not really a whole lot of rudeness here. Extremely passionate answers, and blunt when they need to be. But one of my favorite sayings is if you're going to be stupid you have to be tough.
If you're going to be stupid and ask the best way to add to the pet overpopulation problem in this country, be prepared for people who have compassion for all the animals on death row to give you a piece of their mind!
I'm not a PETA freak and I don't work for HSUS. In fact I breed Great Pyrenees.....There's a right way and a wrong way to do everything, and half-assed is always the wrong way.

Hi Dobiegang,
I feel there are a few rude people on here, but, if you notice the REALLY rude ones, i feel don't know what they are even talking about. The others I don't feel are rude they are just trying to get their point across. Some people are kind of hard headed..
You know, though I feel there are as many rude ?'s as there are answers.. last night was a girl on here who instead of asks for help on her dog breeding (bulldog m, beagle F) she came on and demanded help because she was doing this no matter what people say.. How are you suppose to have nice answers? know what i mean?
I joined YA not to long ago, and am working on my 3rd level (about 5 points from there now) and I have enjoyed really reading the questions and answering what I can, and I appericate the answers people give to me too..
percentage wise maybe 2%

This is basically the only category I post under. Rarely I will make a post in another category, but not enough to know how rude the users there may or may not be. I do know that in the DOG section, there are a few extremely rude people who enjoy nothing more than putting other users down. Any questions on breeding gets mostly negative replies, but overall, I think most of the people here are nice and friendly and just want to help any way they can. I would say less than 1% of the users here are rude, but the really rude ones are awful!!

I'm trying to avoid letting utter disbelieve or frustration reflect my posts/replies.
I am also trying to never be rude because rude posts normally don't carry an educational value - and the person who asked the question may simply, really, really not be not very educated about particular facts of dog ownership.
I've noticed good posts/replies getting a thumb's down, specially when it's about not breeding, feeding good diets, medical care, etc.
Unfortunately the sad truth is: Own first, ask questions later.
I find those who purposely give wrong advice a lot ruder..

I have to agree that the number is fairly low. However, there are a lot of people being "blunt" maybe. When you see the same questions over and over again. (When should I breed my 8 month old dog? How do I stud my Yorkalabradoodle? My dog is vomiting blood, what is a home remedy to help him?) So, many of us tell them bluntly what we think. Sometimes I think that "bluntness" and rudeness can be considered the same thing.

I agree with goldengal maybe 2 to 5 %.
I don't think that there are that many that are really rude but there are a few that are go way over overboard and I do think some answers are given out of fustration which may seem rude to the others.

That is caused by the TYPE of question you asked. With that question you automatically draw out every PETA/HSUS troll, along with many that feel dogs shouldn't be bred.
Medical and food questions are the other categories that seems to draw people's ire, which I really don't understand. IMHO a lot of times all the person wants to know is if they are over reacting before calling a vet, and with foods there is no one right answer yet so many feel that it is "my way or the highway".
Myself personally, I have gotten to a few people because I am not afraid to say something when an answer comes from complete ignorance or was long ago disproved.
There are people on here that give excellent advice tho'

Thats why I hardly bother with this section anymore. I noticed all of a sudden that when people mention the "good" dog foods (canidae, wellness, innova) .. they are getting thumbs down now.
I can get a bit rude when it can come to some questions (when people "need" to breed their dogs ..) .. but now I just stay in different categories.
I realized that you cant change peoples minds about what they do. I also realized why there are so many cats and dogs in shelters from all these questions.
I say between 2-5% I guess.

nope. The rudest people are the ones in the Religion section. The Dog section is pretty good. as for percent maybe like 0.5%. In religion I would say 80% rudeness. There are trolls all over there.

"Rude" and "honest" can be the same thing, if you don't want to hear the honest answer...
Personally, I think the percentage is very low...and if you want serious bickering, name calling, and personal attacks, all you have to do is hit the Religion & Spirituality or American Politics sections. We're the rudest, here? Don't think so.
