Not a bad question.

I see it as the way to heaven - from where there is no coming back.

To answer the point on Jesus, I think a Buddhist would see him as a very great Teacher; the Son of God would be acceptable to revere and venerate.

Jesus as 'Love'; would be the Buddhist way, too.

In the same way Jesus was something beyond Man; so too was the Buddha.

I believe they were different prophets sent at different times.

The Buddha does have something special about Him, as a Teacher, though ...

Greetings Friend,

Buddhism is an awesome religion. It has so much to offer. I highly recommend that you learn more about it. A good place to start is on about.com.

One of the things the Buddha taught is the Four Noble Truths: 1) suffering exist for all of us. 2) Our suffering comes from our craving, or desiring. 3) There is a way out - Nirvana. 4) The way out is the eightfold path: right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

In addition, it does teach various meditation methods, which helps us discover our underlying peace. There's tonglen, loving kindness, and others

It is definite mind training. There is so much with it I can hardly do it justice, so study up on it. You won't be disappointed.

sending love,

I didnt study the Buddhism religion. "Good thing" I just know that they believe in respecting all life that exists. They literally will never hurt a fly. Buddhism teaches non-violence. To me that is a good thing and i respect everyone's in their choice of religion. Its their path.
Personal opinion, I think that its turning your back on the one & only true GOD, creator of all things (im not talking about Jesus like many here).
In my opinion thats the only bad thing.
I do agree with the other Buddhists here and study on it & ask them questions if you need to.

Buddhism is good. Overall, the homo-sapien is created to achieve spiritual bliss. Although, spiritual bliss may come from many religions and belief-systems, it is the idea of having a that thing to allow that bliss. Buddhism is good.

Buddhism is one of the best life philosphys there is.

May this one suggest "The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings", by Thich Nhat Hanh. It will explain to you the concepts taught in Buddhism much better than this might be able to do.

May this one also suggest, "Buddha" by Karen Armstrong as a biographical source of information about the historical personage.

Also, HIs Holiness, the Dalai Lama has written many wonderful books about Tibeten Buddhism.

Ther are also many very good web sites readily available to you (i.e, Buddha.com, etc.). PLease to use your computure.

may it be well with you.

we are peaceful and we believe in compassion and every being are equal. Buddha is like a honorable teacher to us and he doesn't said we have to believe in him so we can go to heaven, he want us to go and think if what he said is true and most importantly. we must practice what we preach to be a true buddhist. Not just believe in theory.

I would be more than honor and pleasure to answer any question if you have more. feel free to email me at

chengooch@yahoo.com

but I am not as expert in Buddhism yet. I am just start to learn. what I love about Buddhism is that it is so wise and compassion and the best happiness come from within you but not outside factors.

good lucks
