SS and Medicare taxes are in addition to Federal income tax. When you itemize deductions you can deduct state income taxes from you federal taxable income. Federal income taxes, SS and Medicare taxes are not deductible from State or Federal taxable income.

Not sure what you are asking. If you have your own business, so you pay your own social security, you DO add them to your federal income tax to get the total that you owe.

ss tax is being saved for you by the government for in the event you become disabled..medicare is for medical when you retire. It is not refundable

Do you mean as a deduction? Because the current tax law doesn't allow it.

You need to vote for someone who wants a flat tax.
