In line with the communist ideology they do not believe in God
because religion is against with Karl Marx theory.Religion will hamper their economic progress. The government did not support religion activities so the religious people were affraid
to show their activities which can be interpreted as against with the government policy. But in gfact the religious peolle believe in God such as christians and muslims. They were sleeping at that time. Now after the communist government have been destroyed they have the right to make religious activities.

A person may join the Communist Party while retaining a belief in God and religion. Marxists, however, don t believe that religion is the answer to the contradictions of capitalism, although it may help to alleviate the suffering caused by the inequitable distribution of wealth and exploitation that always exists with capitalism. Marx put it this way: "Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."

Communists closed Churches, arrested priests and even turned a large church in Russia into a museum of atheism and had a notorious decievers section with Minister etc. in it. In China if you aren't part of the "approved" church then you can be arrested and jailed. The BBC news was talking about a minster that got 2 years for having some Bibles printed at his own expense and giving them away.... if you can call it that then atheism is their religion.

Nobody, regardless of the economic sytem in place, believes in religion unless you're indoctrinated to do so. If Communists are indoctrinated to believe in religion then they do. If they aren't then they don't. Same thing with non-Communists. As a matter of policy, Communism rejects religion because it is the opium of the people. Communism may suck, but at least they got *one* thing right.

By design Communism is a non-religious system of government. There are some exceptions to this system. Many dictators demand themselves a Supreme Diety (god). Just look at the dictator of North Korea, Kim Jong-il. Kim Jong-il demands all his citizens to worship him. I guess you could say if a cummunistic government has a religion it is a government controlled religion.

In general no. Marx suggested that religion would break up his ideal society so most communist countries are officially atheists.

Communists are typically atheists and humanists. Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot all outlawed religion and went on to murder tens of millions of their own people

They don't believe in any religion. To them God is an opium.
To them right or wrong, is not absolute, what matters most to them is the interest of the State.
