This is in Windows XP. It's fine when one of three users are logged on. But when it's at the log on list, the screen saver never kicks in. Eventually it goes dark, but what about a picture slide show before that? How do I set that? (Each user has his/her own slide show.) I'd need to use "shared photos," I assume.

You might be out of luck on this one.

Windows XP only becomes fully activated after a user is logged on (even if this is a single user by default). This also activates the individual user's settings including the screensaver.

What you observe (the screen "goes dark") when no one is logged on is the power saving feature of the system. This is not the same as a screensaver.

You have a couple of choices, depending upon why you do not want to log on. The first is to log on as Guest (or another User with very limited access) and allow the screensaver to activiate. This will require you to log on (change logon) in order to use the system in your normal fashion.

The second possibility is to set your primary user to have the screensaver and require a password to re-activate.
