the conversation has made him sexually excited...then plays like the girl is not what got him excited ---just her conversation---Is that possible. Could it be true that I didn't excite him but my conversation made him horney???
I don't see how he can separate the two ideas.
Either I'm hot to him or not!

Tell me what you believe.

Well, the peepee stands up, usually, because the man is getting himself ready for penetration. Your facial expressions, what you said in the conversation, eye contact, how you said it... All of that stuff basically turned him on to the point where he wanted to penetration your hoohoo. That simple enough for you?

It depends what the conversation is about? IF you guys are talking about geology then it is definetly you that he got exited about. I mean how exited can you get about rocks. I mean if you are a geologist it can be exiting but not sexually exiting. If on the other hand you where talking about something of a sexual nature then yes he was exited about the topic and not you.

Also, people can fall in love with personalities. There is physical attraction and there is personality attraction. That is you fall in love with the way a person expressses himself/herslef or some quality that makes them sexy. So, he coulkd be saying he founds you attractive by the way you express yourself. A compliment.

A third option is that he is lying. He likes ya but is shy. Kind os like "nah not me" but internally meaning "yes yes me". Boys do this kind of things. Deny the thruth even if it is what they want because we as boy get afraid of rejection. For example If I say I find you very pretty you may or may not take offense to that. You might reject my honesty and I may get hurt. If I alternatively say that the way you fixed your hair today along with those earings make you look pretty today" then I'm giving you a compliment which is more indirect because is not personal. I'm not saying that I find you attractive. I'm saying that the conbination makes you attractive. So, my chances of getting a possitive response is greater even if what I would really like to say is that is not the hair or the earing but you that I like. Yes, there is a lot of psycolgy involve.

That's possible, but I would assume he's just trying to get a rise out of you by saying that.

Phone sex/Cybersex are two examples where the text/words coming out of someone's mouth mean more than what the person looks like (often you don't get a person either. Just a screen name, right?)
