Well, maybe not that poor either. I throw in the 'poor' part as an easy way to filter out the little gold diggers and the 'trophy wife wannabes.'

As an experiment I actually ran an ad similar to this in Yahoo Personals several years ago. It ran for a month and I got three replies. Then I ran the same ad, changing the word ‘poor’ for the words ‘very successful’ and got almost two thousand hits the first week. I only bothered to reply to the first three from the first ad.

Young women tend to only want to be w/ the "popular" guys to boost their own self esteem. Women 29-31 have gotten over themselves and found out that the "popular" guys are really not that attractive inside and are more trouble than they are worth. And no Jeffery - That is not lowering their standards, it's raising them. Just keep dating the ladies that are a bit older than you. In a couple of years, the females that are our age will start seeing that you are a good catch. That is, IF you want to be with them after all of this.

Hmm. I'd say yes but your art style does not appeal to me. Sorry, that's the real selling point. But I can think of a few artists who fit that criteria I wouldn't mind dating...
...But it is too late. Found a really brilliant writer.

Not old, but ugly yes, and poor only if he is still a gentleman in providing for the woman within the budget means.
I've dated poor, the ones I encountered turned out to be gigolos unfortunately.

Sorry, Wats - I married my biggest fan on May 20 this year.
You know, I bet if you tried, you could think up three evocative adjectives to describe yourself (instead of derogatory ones) and perhaps get some sincere responses. Hint: Cynical should not be one of your choices...
;-)
