Maybe your definition of submit isn't what St. Paul had in mind. Your approach will make every woman I know run for the door. In many ways I submit to my husband but I don't live in the kitchen and I certainly don't do all the house work. We work together and help each other. By the way if a woman loves you she will bake you a pie, you just need to be kind to her first. You need to change your approach and don't sound like a dictator, women are equal to you, you need to talk to them with respect and you will get what you want in return. The point is my husband treats me like a queen and I treat him like a king. Everyone is happy. Think back to your own parents, did your father treat your mother the way you want to treat women? how well did that work out, was your mother happy? maybe not.

The rest of that quote is that husbands are to oversee their wives as Christ oversees his church - in a loving, patient, and compassionate manner. Your out-of-context scenario doesn't quite work in that context.
St. Paul was actually quite the feminist in his day. Jewish law said that women were not allowed to worship with the men - Paul said they could worship together, as long as women covered their heads just as the men had to do.
He asked Lydia, Dorcas, and other women of the early church to be leaders of some of the house churches in the cities he visited and relied on them to hold the congregations together in his absence. He ascribed certain rights to women that were not common under Jewish tribal law.
Perhaps you should start dating Marie Callendar. She may be a little old for you, but she makes great pie. :)

In the same passage St. Paul tells men to respect and take care of their wives. It's a two way street.

"Hey missy, you get in that kitchen and you bake me some pie"?
Is that how you start dates? Jeez. Unless you're dating Paula Deen I think you're out of luck.

Maybe they just don't know how to make a pie. Why don't you start them off with something simple like a box cake and a can of frosting.

Um...you just sound like you don't respect women in general. I wouldn't give you a second glance, even IF I was single with an attitude like THAT. I'm Christian, BTW, but I'm nobody's slave!! There's a difference between submission to my husband, and being mistreated by a jerk!

Men are also suppose to treat women as Jesus treated the church. Willing to sacrifice. It balances out. You sacrifice to her and she'll submit to you. If you just sit around and ask her to bake pie, your lack of sacrifice will leave you hungry and single.

you are the biggest douche in the world. So I see why.
But back then women would submit. But nowadays they have feelings of empowerment and independence, and don't feel they should have to submit to anyone.
