I just got a dog from the local pound. He was fine for 16 hours then when I took him to my house he wouldn’t eat. Then he started vomiting first a yellow color then a greenish. He has also had explosive diarrhea I fell so bad for the little guy. He’s been sleeping the whole day and wont eat. Help my 4 year old had bonded with him, and I don’t want anything to happen to him.

I would strongly suggest you get him seen by your vet as soon as possible. Pups can dehydrate very quickly and it is plain to see he's very sick. Your vet will be the only person who can help this little one out.

Could be a number of things, change in his diet, intestinal virus, internal worms. What info do u have from the pound as to his medical records? Has he had all preventive shots and has he been wormed ? If so, then something else is going on with him.If this continues into tomorrow, u must get him to a vet, if he isn`t eating or drinking on top of vomiting and diarrhea, he will become dehydrated very fast. Seek medical help promptly, don`t count on the answers u get here, u need a diagnoses from a vet and proper treatment. Good luck.

Your going to have to take him to the vet. There are a lot of things that could have caused that in a new dog. So I am not really sure where to start. And because you don't really have much of a history on the dog, you would not know if any of those are right.

Make sure it is getting water, you may want to make some food for it(boiled hamburger and rice) see if it will eat that, and it would be very safe for him.

A good first step to you, call an emergency vet clinic, they will help you on the phone and tell you if there is anything that you can do right now. Most vet clinics are really nice and really don't expect anything from you

This sounds like a puppy disease called Parvo. Most pups get a series of shots for this when they are young. Check with the pound and see if he has had these shots or been tested for this. This is a serious life threating disease and needs to be treated ASAP. I had a dog that had this and he lived although he had to be put on fluids and left with vet for 4 days. I have attached a link so you can read details about this disease from a professional stand point. Hope this helps.

Sadly it sounds like Parvo, this is a highly contagious k9 disease. In puppies and old dogs that have not been vaccinated it can be fatal. Some signs include, vomiting, smelly diarrhea, not eating or drinking. The puppy is in danger of dehydration. Please see your local vet. Also clean the areas in your home that the puppy has been in contact with, use a bleach and water solution. Good luck

Vet the dog, now. first thing in the morning if the vet is not open tonight.

diarrhea can quickly dehydrate and kill and animal. Provide plenty of water but no food until you see a vet tommorow morning.

Take him to the vet to be sure he's ok. He may have picked something up from one of the other dogs.

Then take him to the vet and have him treated. Or take him back to the pound where you got him and tell them what's going on.

This dog needs to be seen by a vet... He might have reacted to a new food and environment...

In case you need to hear it again, take him to the vet. Don't wait, take him now. If you're vet is closed, their voicemail usually refers you to an emergency vet.
