I have a little brother. The first time he saw fireworks he was a little over 1 and a half years old. He loved them. He's 4 and a half now,and still loves them.
When I was younger,I cried and cried at the sound of fireworks. If your son starts crying when the noises come, watch the fireworks from the car. Let him sit on your lap in the front seat and watch out the window. He gets to see the pwibby colors, w/o the loud noise.

Some kids are frightened by fireworks and some are just completely amazed by it. The only way you are going to find out what his reaction will be is to take him. Maybe you can sit far enough back so it doesnt hurt his ears? If he becomes upset, dont force it upon him and try again next year when he is older.

we took my son who wasnt even a year old and i too was worried, mostly i didnt want to do any damage to his ears but he is almost two now and he is fine. i think as long as you are not really really close to the fireworks, physically he will be fine. you may run into a problem though if he is scared by them. . .

My daughter is 15 months old, I took her to see fireworks on saturday and she absolutely LOVED them! If you are afraid they will hurt your childs ears, you can get some ear plugs and put them in there. Hopefully he will enjoy the show like my daughter did!

I think the fireworks would be too loud and would scare your son. I would wait until he's older. You could do more quiet fireworks at home until then.

Take him and either park far away so you can leave if you have to or have him piuck out some special earplugs. The noise is what usually gets them. Plus being up so late doesn't help irritability either

lol well, my daughter is 2 and I thought it would be ok to take her and my younger daughter but my husband said no. So, I am kind of in the same situation. I think it's ok as long as you put your hands over their ears.

Just took my 2 and 3 year old sons with no problem....do every year. As long as you aren't like right up on them, it is no problem.

my daughters have gone every year since they were born and we are going tonight with our 9 yr old, 4 yr old and 2 week old. help him cover his ears, or simply follow his cues, if he doesn't like the loudness of it then leave.
