Where is the safest place to live in New York City?

the Upper East Side but you need a LOT of MONEY to live there. West side is nice and the Village is always jumping but you will probably do better doing like most of us and living somewhere in the outter boros. Look at the neighborhood before moving in. Stop in the local store and ask how is the area crimewise. There are some places that are really not very safe but your instincts should warn you about what you can and cannot handle.
