I am training for the Fire Academy and my goal is to run the mile and a half in under 9 minutes. My best time so far is 9:20. I have less than 10 weeks to get under 9 minutes. I am currenty running intervals on monday. 3x800 in 1:30. and wednesday and Friday I have been running at a moderate pace for 4 to 6 miles. I was wondering if I should increase my distance that I am running my intervals or stay at the same distance and work on running them faster? Any help would be great.

You must mean that you are running 800 at 1:30 for a 400. I think you should run more 400s. You might try 200/400/600/800 and back down twice. Speed up. You should be doing the 400s in about 70 or less. 800 should be 2:40 or so.

jog for 1hour straight non stop and keep the speed consistent... after one hour do 500 skip ropes then the ff day try to run again u'd be able to go faster because of the resistence you gained thus going faster with ease

run sprints do like 20 yard sprints take a 20-30 second breather after each than go again, this helps build muscle inlegs dramaticaly, and also helps with stamina do his say every other day instead of long distance or do it after your long distance run, sprints r also great for burning fat
