The trunk will not open. I can't open it from the backseat because there is no release. They're in the trunk. Any suggestions to the solution would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to remove the backseat. Remove the lower or bottom cushion and then you will be able to remove the back portion of the seat and get thru into the trunk compartment in that way. To remove the lower cushion just push rearward on the seat cushion just below where your legs hang down and the lower cushion will pop up and slide forward for removal and then you will see a bolt on either side to remove the backrest portion. Good luck...it,s not that bad of a job.

I have that car. What did you do to stop you using the key?

The remote never worked properly for the trunk so I always used the key.

The catches for the seats are indeed in the trunk but the release mecanism is close to the top of the chair. Pull the top of the chair slighly foreward and you can get at the clip that hols the seat in place.

Good luck

I even have an previous Ford Escort. Had virtually the comparable situation, the grasp key grew to become into virtually worn right down to the tip of its existence. Took it into any vehicle care shop asked in the event that they could make me a sparkling key - they did value me approximately £21.00 yet relatively worth it. they might desire to loose up the code interior the main for it to artwork on your vehicle so have your vehicle on hand.

crow bar

The trunk release, on the left end of the dash, is triangular, shaped to fit into the intersection of the arcs outlining the instrument panel.
