My puppy is 6 1/2 mos old and ever since he was little he takes his squeak toys and squeaks them over and over and over again really fast until we cant stand it and take it away. We have to hide all his squeak toys! Do any of your dogs do this? If so, why?! lol

Roshann... we DO play with our dog. He has... I just counted them 28 toys 5 of them squeak. We take him out on walks everyday and we play fetch with him. I have never had a dog that squeaked the toy like he does... just seeing what/if anyone has had a dog like that. Go play with your dog!

LOL that is cute.
Yes, my dog will do that, but she will eventually stop
it is just because the puppy likes the sound it makes.

I'm sure it is because he is still young and squeaking the toy is fun for him. Even if you spend time to play with him; it might be a different type of fun for him (for example, he might like walks but prefers squeaky toys more...) anyhow, if the sounds bother you, try to stop it by attempting to play fetch with him. Take the toy from him and say "play fetch" and throw it, he might get distracted and then play fetch instead of trying to squeak it.
My dog did this too when he was a pup and would go through a "squeakfest" for almost 20 minutes until he would get tired and stop for a while. As he got older though, he does it less now; every once in a while he will play with his squeak toys but not squeak them as much. Like I said, I think it is because he is a still young and it is fun for him. Maybe you should give him something like rawhide to chew on instead of the squeak toy.

My dogs LOVE squeak toys. Unfortunately, they also love digging the squeaker out and then disemboweling the toy, so they don't last long! I don't know of anything durable, but if you're already buying kid's toys for your dog, have you thought about getting them from garage sales, thrift stores, or dollar stores instead of an expensive toy store? An average stuffed toy at a garage sale costs 10-25 cents. Garage sales are a Saturday tradition for my mom and I in the summer, and whenever I find cheap stuffed toys without plastic eyes (harder than it sounds; almost everything has plastic eyes!), I buy them for my dogs. My dogs enjoy destroying them just as much as any toy bought at a pet store. It's so nice knowing that I wasted a dime on that torn apart garage sale teddy bear, rather than $5 at a pet or toy store. Apparently, a lot of people do this - this year we held a garage sale of our own, and literally HALF of the people who bought my old stuffed animals told us they were going to become toys for their dogs.

My Bichon Frise STILL does that and she's 9 years old. As soon as I buy her a new toy, she figures out how to squeak it and will proceed to squeak it until we have to take it away from her. It's not that she's bored at all. She's playing...she's having fun even if it drives the rest of us crazy!

He's trying to get the squeaker out. I have a dog that will chew on squeak toys until the entire toy is ripped to shreds and it stops squeaking. For some reason, they don't like the squeak.

Yes 2 of my eskies love to squeak their toys over and over again. One of them likes to destuff some of them just for the squeaky. That's when I usually take it away, as the he ends up tearing the plastic. I think they just like the sound of the squeak. And if I pick up one of their toys and squeak it they know it's time to play!

I don't have any dogs that do that ... anymore that is.. I got smart and quit buying them toys that squeak.
Yeah I think most of them do it.. Why not do it, it's obviously very fun, maybe even funny to a dog to try to drive someone mad !:)
