There is much speculation as to who the antichrist is.
Daniel described an individual who will blasphemously set himself against God by persecuting believers and defiling the Lord's "holy place" (Daniel chapter 7 verses 21-27.
Jesus predicted a sacrilegious figure who would terrorize God's people to the extent that "if the Lord does not reduce that time, no one will be saved" (Mark chapter 13, verses 14;20.
Paul wrote of a man of sin who seeks to dethrone God and uses Satan's power to deceive people (2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3-4, 9-10).
John warned of a rival and opponent of Christ, the antichrist (1 John 2 v 18; 22; chapter 4 v 3; 2 John 1 v 7).
Jesus is the only biblical writer to use the term antichrist.
Revelation presents a figure who seems to fulfill these earlier prophecies. This man of evil, known as the beast, is dedicated to opposing God.

His Origin - This beast doesn't enter the world's stage unexpectedly. He emerges from a great lineage of rebellion (2 Thess. 2 v 3, 7). Similarly, the beast in Revelation rises from the abyss, which represents the satanic underworld Revelation 11 v 7. The antichrist is the epitome of the satanic perversions and wickedness that are present in every age.
His World Domination
As a political figure, the antichrist becomes so powerful that opposing him is futile. All nations on earth serve him. Opposition against his rule is brutally suppressed. Only those who are branded with the beast's mark, showing their loyalty to him, will be able to participate in the world's economy. Mark 13 v 14, 20; Revelation 13 v 4, 7-8. 16-17

His Self-Deification
The antichrist blasphemously exalts himself as God and ruthlessly persecutes those who don't worship his image (Daniel 7 v 21-27, 11 v 20-39. Mark 13 v 14, 20; 2 Thesssalonians 2 v 3-4, 9-11. As a result, confessing Jesus as Lord may result in death Revelation 13 v 5-8, 15. The antichrist is responsible for unleashing the tribulation, the most intense period of persecution God's people will ever experience. Mark 13 v 14, 20.

His Deceptive Power
Using spectacular miracles, the antichrist persuades the world to accept his false teachings 2 Thessalonians 2 v 9-11. Like satan, who disguises himself as an angel of light, the beast seduces the world by imitating Christ's resurrection when he recovers from a fatal wound Revelation 13 v 3;14
His Goal
The anitchrist's aim is principally religious. He exalts himself as nothing less than Jesus' rival. Note the parallels: both are worshipped Revelation 13 v 8; 15 v 2-4; both are killed and come back to life Revelation 13 v 3;8. both have authority over nations Revelation 7 v 9-10; 13 v 7. both mark their followers' heads Revelation 13 v 16, 14 v 1. The antichrist not only ravages Christ's followers, he seeks to replace Christ.

His Final End
Jesus will conquer the antichrist at the great battle of Armageddon. After that, the antichrist and his cohort, the false prophet, will be thrown into the fiery lake Daniel 7 v 26-27; 11 v 36; Revelation 17 v 14; 19 v 19-21.
The antichrist reminds us that evil in our world is not simply the compilation of individual human wrongs. There is a "prince of evil" who arrogently interferes with God's original intent for creation. Satan deceives us and seduces us into his wily schemes, like he has done since the Garden of Eden. Only one person can destroy Satan's power: the Lord Jesus Christ.

The brief prophecy, "antichrist shall come," 1 John 2:18, has taken hold of the imagination of so many that the name antichrist is more widely known than other Bible names given to a wicked being who darkens the horizon in the end time.
These include such expressions as the man of sin, the son of perdition, and the wicken one, 2 Thess 2:3-8; the wicked king, Daniel 7:24, 25; the king of fierce countenance, Daniel 8:23-25; and the beast from the sea, Rev. 13:1-10.
If the word antichrist is taken to mean one who is against Christ these names belong to him, but if the word means a falst Christ, then it properly applies to the beast from the earth of the land, Rev. 13:11-18, who is the false prophet of Rev. 16:13; 19:20; 20:10.
The personal antichrist must be distinguished from the many antichrists of 1 John 2:18; 2 John 7; from those who have the spirit of antichrists, 1 John 4:3, and from the false Christs who are to deceive the people of Israel in the latter days, Matt. 24:24; John 5:43.
A considerable body of Scripture is devoted to this evil being. The beast king is given power over all nations for only three and a half years, Rev. 13:5. He will perish in the lake of fire, Rev. 19:20; 20:10

There is much speculation:
Many think a pope
A UN or other world leader
he will probably rise from out of the area of the old Roman Empire.
I have no idea who he is or if he is gaining power already today (he might be).

scholars have said there have been many, and scholars have said there will be one that is the Antichrist. But Jesus will come back first, and no one will know. The Holy Spirit will make it known to those who become Christians after that, but otherwise, no one knows. The person/thing themself may not yet know.

This is why you need to read the Word of God carefully. In 1st John it talks of Antichrist;
NOT,
the Antichrist. You will not find those words in the Bible; the Antichrist.

The Anti-Christ must be Jewish. The temple must also be rebuilt before he makes his appearance so let's not worry about him.
