If you get offended this means you.

I find that Christians seem to be more on the deaf, dumb, & blind side overrall

Atheists, (and I DO believe in God, so I'm not one) appear to be far more informed & intelligent. Or maybe they just present themselves that way. I guess I feel this way b/c they don't just accept whatever they're told. They actually research and them make an INDEPENDENT, INFORMED decision.

There ARE some intelligent Christians, I'm only generalizing, but there are far more that are sleep walking and live amongst the deaf, dumb, & blind.

The Roman church has done a fine job of making a human indeed!

I need to stop watching the Matrix so much +)

I hope you had taken the time to really read and analyze your statement. I would love to ask you a few questions though;

What exactly makes sense to you? the fact that someone prefers to share what they to KNOW, based on experiece to be true, or rather what they have aspired to prove true.Intelligence is not wieghed by knowledge but rather its application.

Dont forget that there are lots of educated fools out there who believes that with an abundance of knowledge they can solve almost anything.

I cannot agree with your statement ( i am not offended because this is your opinion), however, I do believe that most of these Christians are just speaking based on what they Know and have experienced. It would be really stupid to base your beliefs on just the Bible without any proof of truth regarding it. The Christians truths are their experiences, can knowledge beat that?

As for the athiests, they too have thier points. And they must be given their fair share of props.

But you cannot compare oil with water. They have nothing in common!

So your point about Roman Church is null and viod because if i have proven something personally then you cannot deny my experience by finding proofs that i couldnt have. If you cannot relate thats different but saying i couldnt thats not intelligence. Thats opinion and people use research all the time to support opinions.

Thats like saying There's no such thing as fear and people cannot experience fear because it is not real. Because in 1874, some person conducted a study and prove that fear doesnt exists.

Take care and thanks for giving me something to think about.

God bless

I know what your saying, and this applies to the real world as well. But, I am not sure what you mean by the Roman Church has done a fine job of making a human indeed! I am assuming, and I am probably wrong, that you might be talking about the Roman Catholic Church. Which granted, they have really helped make most people deaf, dumb and blind and live that way as well. But, they are sort of the city on a hill, the place where they are known about every mistake they make.

So, i don't think it is only the Roman church that did this, it was people in general. We don't usually like to look at our own philosophy and possibly go against what society (whether a church society or United States society). At least I sometimes don't, and I wish I was different in that way. So, yeah.

Some of the q &a are dumb but then again, I have no way of knowing if the person asking or answering them is actually dumb or not. This is the internet and some people behind their screens will say just about anything to rile anyone up.
And yes...even "act" dumb.

As for me, I do my own research after being told something is "fact" instead of taking things at face value only.

Not offended, but I don't think that this question is very productive. There are intelligent people on EVERY side in this section. I've met many intelligent Christians, as well as MANY atheists who really make me think.

And by the way, I was an atheist for most of my life. Now I'm a Christian.

Many people just get frustrated on here. You may notice that where the atheist sounds intelligent there is a limited set of arguments used and these are used superficially. If someone challenges them they just make some sarcastic remark ( don't confuse sarcasm with intellect.) Yes there are many Christians who don't think about what they believe or why but if you read through you will notice the atheists have the same problem.

Nope I have to say I feel you.
I really enjoy an intelligent debate of religion. Those with more education about thier own religion and others tend to be more tolerant AND more faithful because they know what they actually believe instead of parroting phrases from the bible.

Yeah....it is a little to much of a fray for most of the intelligent Christians. They usually don't stay, but there are a few exceptions like Father K.

Us atheists have fun, so we hang around. The fundies that stay really don't realize how many lumps they are taking.

So that is how you get to where it is.

Your question is grammatically incorrect -- it contains the word "are" twice, when it only needs it once -- so I wouldn't gripe about other people being "dumb" if I were you.

By the way, Pope John Paul II held several doctorates, and spoke several languages. So there's at least one Christian who is not blind or dumb.

Oh, sorry, I forgot -- you were just generalizing.

You complain about Christians being blind and dumb -- but hey, at least we don't paint people with broad generalizing brushes.

No, you're right about the distinction. Intelligence tends to correspond to nonbelief. The more you learn, the less you need these childish superstitions.

Blind faith tends to appeal more to the ignorant and poorly educated. Just look at the way a lot of the Christians on here spell, the way they argue (totally circular), they way they can't look beyond anything their Bible tells them. They can't even behave the way their savior told them to behave.

I came here hoping for some intelligent discussion about spirituality. Instead, it's just another forum for swatting irritating little bugs.
