What do you mean "logical?" You think just because I don't waste my time reading these science or evolutionary books or these philosopher's theories that I don't think? I've wondered at times whether or not God was real, like if my religion could be wrong, but then I realized I need faith to believe in God.
Tell me, what logical thinking I should be doing that all you guys talk about?

I know what you are referring to
the Atheist claim that God is illogical and irrational but think about it ,it makes more sense that someone created everything than that it just happened by chance.

I think it is best to limit the term logic to formal derivation of valid conclusions from premises.

The fact that you do not read science or evolutionary books or philosophers does not mean that you cannot be logical.

However, not reading these genre does limit the contents of your thoughts. This may present no problem to you. And if it does not, let us all wish you godspeed or good luck or whatever.

I would suggest that it would not be wasting your time to read science, etc, not because it would make you more logical. However, it would help you understand what those of us that have read some of these books are talking about.

Maybe more to the point, it might help you understand a whole host of issues that get played out on the news every day. Lots of science, etc goes into many issues that make living in this day and age interesting and challenging.

But again, maybe you do not need to understand us. However, the very fact that you are asking the question may indicate that some part of you does want to understand us.

The logical thinking that people usually are talking about:

Is to explore more than just your religion. Read all the science and evolutionary things you can handle before you spend the rest of your life believing in something that quite possibly isn't true.

Just because you've been raised thinking that there is a higher being doesn't mean its true.

This is an opinionated answer please do not be offend

While I appreciate logic and rational thinking I am not a total fan of it.
However the system of logic can help us to be very clear about our arguments.
I think most decisions are made without the benefit of any rational thought or application of logic though.
Especially in politics and religion.

It is thinking without prejudice of beliefs that can't be substantiated.
If you think with a starting point of God existing, that is faith, and so logic flies out of the window before you've even started.
If it keeps you happy and doesn't hurt those around you, then why bother to think logically?
Ignorance is bliss. There is nothing you "should" do about, it's a question of choice.

Logic looks at all variables and concludes with the only likely outcome.
Eliminate the impossible and only the obvious will remain.

A belief in God is life long.. If you look around you, everything has a designer and creator. Your home, your computer, your clothes. How could you have gotten here by accident?

Using logic to figure things out. Common sense really.

For a religious questions. Why is there a God? Who started it?

If you use reasoning from there, that is where logical thinking begins on that subject.

It's basically asking Who, What, Where, When, and How? and continuously asking from there.

Philosophical theories prove the need for the existance of a creator. This is all based on Logical thinking.

There is not one scientific theory that attempts to disprove the existance of God.

Logic is a means of good and evil. Faith is ameans of being led to do something that is illogical, such as walking on water.Paul said,"whatsoever is not of faith is sin, logic is partaking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Logical thinking is deductive reasoning from certain starting presuppositions using available data. This is why two logical people can reach vastly different conclusions if they start from different presuppositions or have different data available to them. Sometimes the conclusions reached are nonsensical. As the computer people say--garbage in, garbage out.

I think that logical thinking is like a sequential thought. This process involves taking the important ideas, facts, and conclusions involved in a problem and arranging them in a chain-like progression that takes on a meaning in and of itself. To think logically is to think in steps. You gotta outline these and get it all in a sum in the end.
