Try as I may, I can't quite manage to believe that Jesus got up after being dead two days, and started walking around like nothing ever happened.
Yet I would shudder to think I be an atheist.

I'm not, but you should not be getting hassled if you are. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and I find it very disrespectful for "Christians" or other people of faith to belittle people who choose not to believe.
We have to live with ourselves and accept others for who they are.
