I have been suffering from depression lately and feelings that someone is watching me or coming to get me. I do owe alot of creditors including the IRS and Student loans. The other day, a stranger knocked on my door and left. If it was the sherriff wouldn't they leave a card or papers or something? It may have just been someone lost or something. Help me !!! I feel that I am going crazy..

If your story is true, and you do owe a lot of money, then I would say your assumption is correct.

First and foremost, get professional help with the depression. Find a doctor or a state agency that can get you the help you need. THEN tackle the creditors. The IRS will work with you. Whomever hold your student loans will work with you. Your other debtors will work with you. They may not like to in some instances, but they will. But FIRST get the help you need with the depression, it can paralyze you and prevent you from having the resources to get any of the rest accomplished.

If you are suffering from depression you need to see a Dr. A Dr. may be able to refer you to someone who can help you talk through your problems. Credit Counseling is available in most large cities and most credit card companies and the IRS will work through them to help you pay off your debts.

stop being scared, you are wasting your life. if you owe people money make arrangments to pay. most creditors, including the irs will work with you if you can't pay the whole amount up front. avoiding it is not going to make the problem go away. it will only give you an ulcer and make you think you are going crazy!!

get legal advise for a lawyer can help. they know various ways to get the various agencies and creditors to work with you. if not a lawyer then a reputable credit counseling agency. check with your better business bureau though because there are many " rip off " agencies. best to check with a lawyer in my opinion. been there done that. --- up to a point.
