I would also like to know if this sounds good in taking care of my skin...

Ive been steaming my face every night for about ten minutes then immediately cleaning my face with nuetrogena then i splash on cold water to close the pores. I'm 18 now and i would like to when i could ever have clear skin again :-(

Also if I eliminate neutrogene(cause it's so expensive) and use dove exfoliating could that help too?

Can You Outgrow Acne

There isn't a specific age that you'll outgrow it. I've heard that it should only stay around in your teen years but who could actually know for sure. There is actually something that works very well. A close friend of mine told me this and he is a doctor. Go buy some Nature Made Vitamin E Softgel capsules. Yes I know they are vitamin pills. Every night, take a capsule and pop one of them open. Then take the oil and apply it to any acne on your face. It will smell kinda bad but it works. It's best to do it right before you sleep. Keep doing this for a while and in a couple of days, you should see good results.

Ive suffered from acne since I was 13 and I am now 23. It is a different kind of acne now though, not as bad. But Ive learned that if you over do it w/ the steaming and acne washes it can cause your face to develope more oil, and breakout. Pro active actually works pretty good if you keep using it. Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep. Also I went on Yaz... birth control, and it seemed to clear my skin up alot.

Truthfully, you can have it your whole life. I mainly starts when you hit puberty, and it can continue until you are much much much older.

It sounds like your doing the best you can to keep your skin clear. Remember what casues acne, it is oily skin, If you wear makeup, look no the label and see if it say's "will not clog pores". I wash my face about 3 times a day and its getting better. try it!

Good luck

Try proactive may be expensive as well. Also sometimes we do not completely grow out of it. Keep from doing anything that will leave scara or holes. This only gets a little lighter and they will show. Keep your face clean and maybe not open your pores that often.

Some people never outgrow acne. I am 30 and I still get small flareups from time to time. Though nothing near as bad as when I was a teen.

It's all about hormones...sorry to tell ya, but some never grow out of it.

I'm 28 and still break out from time to time when I am STRESSED

What you are doing is great. Try not to wear a lot of make up and just keep washing with mild soaps
