It seems that for about the last year or so, I get extremely itchy whenever it gets hot. Sometimes it's triggered by the smallest workouts, other times I'll get a huge workout and not even get itchy. I've been told it's dry skin, but I'm not sure.

I'm 16, am moderately active, and quite healthy.
Anyone have any answers?

I would look into changing laundry detergents, and /or fabric softeners. It could be when you sweat the residue left on your clothes aggravates your skin. Keep cornstarch in the freezer. Apply to your skin as you would a body powder. It's very soothing and will restrict friction from your clothes and skin from further irritation on your skin. Try using a allergy free detergent and softner to see if it alleviates the problem. Good luck!

I have the same problem. Someone once suggested it was a form of this skin problem called URTICARIA. The only remedy for it though seems to be continuous antihistamine usage and stopping activities that cause it. I find with workouts, if I go big it only bothers me when I first start. Small workouts don't get me past that point. So I have been running vigorously on a treadmill or elliptical every time before I work out for about 15 minutes. I seem to be fine after that no matter what type of workout I do.

it may be dry skin, or it may be your sweat- theres salt and oils and other junk in there- but also it could just be direct heat- since its your nerves that are detecting the heat they may get irritated for some reason. if you get really really itchy id suggest a dermatologist and the neurologist if you still can fix it

It could depend on the place where you live. If you live in a humid place it could be that you are not swetting enough. and the swet is being traped in the pures of your skin. Drink lots of water to hidrate yourself before doing anything active

You could be getting eczema., it's nothing serious but, see the doctor, or get some Hydrocortisone creme over the counter, rub it in.
You could be stating an allergy case, some do as we mature.
