If you have as much passion for it as you say you do then go for it and dont let anything stand in your way or get you down.

Your best option is to start planning to go to college to major in musical theater. Schools such as Cincinnati Conservatory, Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, and Carnegie Mellon have great programs to prepare you for a career. If you have access to a recording studio, go for it. It never hurts to have an idea of what its like to record a demo. Start a myspace or a website and audition for everything you can within your community. Agents and directors are looking for people with experience, so the more you do the better your chances. Start local and allow your career to grow from there. There are always a few success stories where someone makes it big overnight, but for the rest of us out here in the biz, it takes lots of hard work over many years.
FYI.....Nicole Scherzinger (lead singer - P^$$% Cat Dolls) started at Wright State University, Katherine McPhee started at Boston Conservatory, both were musical theater majors.

Only a Talent Agent, Casting Director, or Producer, can tell if you have talent.

boy if you have passion go for it make it your goal go to amercia got talent or american idol or so you think you can dance. then people from record places might have there eye on you.
