I'm not sure of the purpose of this question. If you're asking because you think that perhaps your cat will be fine with fleas - and that frees you up from not spending money on flea treatment, well, you're wrong. Plus fleas are disgusting - they bite you as well.
A cat can get tapeworm from fleas, which lives and grows in their stomach to the point where the animal will waste away. Blood loss from fleas can also cause anemia in cats, which yes, can eventually kill them - especially young kittens or smaller cats or any cats with other compromises to their health. Please get your cat and your home treated for fleas and keep your cat on a monthly flea treatment such as Advantage.

Yes and so can dogs!!!!! Fleas can transfer disease to your pet. Like Bubonic plague. That is how the Plague was passed by fleas on rats. They can also drain your pets blood like leaches. Eventually your pet will need a transfusion. I saw this happen to a German Shepperd. The fleas don't cause an allergy they are a parasite. They give animals worms including heart worm which is fatal. They kill the animal they are host on. So get your cat to the vet and get him a flea bath. Then use Advatix for cats. Flea bomb your house because fleas will host on you as well. They obviously can kill you too.

I am not a vet. but I can tell you that my cat is very allergic to flea bites, and I give her a children's benedryl when she gets bad so she will stop itching so terribly. Frontline plus is an excellent product, that is easy to find, and it will stop the fleas from biting your cat within a day. Pair these remedies together, and you get a much happier cat.

Well they can die from blood loss if infested from fleas, but death from allergies would be rare unless they scratched and chewed themselves up so bad they got a severe infection that became systemic. Mostly they are just miserable. Vets can give medication to help with allergies, but you need to be 100% with flea control.
