How can Arabs drive expensive cars here in Canada?

How can they afford this? There are Canadians that have worked their entire lives on good jobs over many years, and still can only afford a 20 grand or so car. But then we see Arab KIDS that are like 18 or so, driving freakin 70,000$ BMWs, mercedes, lexus, etc.

Are they getting the money from the oil sales?

Is this not unfair?

NO...I am not attacking a specific race or anything. I have no problem with Arabs, or any other people.
I am only saying, how can they afford such things? Its rediculous!

Same as Latin American and African dictators and their families can afford 200K Mercedes while their people starve: they are kept in power by rich countries, given (they and their families) visas to come here and flaunt their wealth, all for the price of keeping their own people in check, disenfranchised and ignorant.

i've known immigrants from the middle east, I have had friends from Pakistan and India. This notion that those people cannot comprehend capitalism is false.
The fact is they are not spoiled, lazy, and complacent like Most Americans, and canadians have become. They are used to busting their butts 18 hours a day, seven days a week where they come from, because they have to just to survive. When they bring that work ethic here, it translates into success. I've seen it with my own eyes. I've had immigrant friends who I've seen come here started out with virtually nothing, and a year or two later they own a business and employ a couple dozen people. People born here just don't look around and see the opportunities that immigrants do.

I once read in a book this quote which I'll never forget.

"the 40 hour work week is for losers. Losers sit in rush hour traffic. Winners drive home in the dark." it's true.

The rich sends their money to Canada and live. It's actually a benefit to your country. Their was a rule back in the 90's where anyone with $100,000 in cash can easily move into Canada. WHen China took over Hong Kong, many of the rich decided to go to Vancouver and other Canadian cities. The influx of Cash and people who has experience in business became a major boon for your country. They saw a huge increase in ash flow and an increase in jobs produced.

It takes money to make money. Canada is actively attracting the rich to help improve the Canadian economy.

I actually wondered the same thing myself - many people of "other nationalities" who work with me (most of whom are only making about $9 an hour) are driving Range Rovers and Mercedes.

There are three reasons for this:

First - their families have money from "back home", where expenses are minimal (especially compared to OUR standards)...

Second - they work their asses off (quite often at menial jobs) - quite often for six or even seven days of the week! Many of them are quite willing to do WHATEVER it takes to work...

And Finally - they are very "tight" with their money. They don't go out and spend it on all the little things that the "rest of us" have deemed as necessary (such as designer clothes, iPods, etc.) BUT - when they DO spend money, they pretty much go all out...

Of course - those who DON'T have a nice shiny car will automatically assume the worst about those who do. It's only Human Nature ;);)

so your saying capitalism is bad? If those people earned their money who is anyone else to tell them how to spend THEIR money. So you would rather live in communism?

The good thing is you can have good ideas and can achieve the same

I would think it would depend on where they are from and what their family situation is. I used to know a Kuwaiti that he and his 3 friends all had really nice cars-mustang convertable, camaro convertable, and rx7's. do believe this friends money came from his father. But just because they are Arab doesn't necessarily mean they are rich..because I am sure there are lots of poor Arabs too. I believe every race has its rich (haves) and poor(have nots).
