That's just part of having a rodent. Some are more prone to bite than others. A lot of hamsters are biters. Get a pair of leather garden gloves to pick him up with until he get used to being held and isn't afraid anymore.

well, he probably smells the scent of the soap you use to wash your hands, make sure it has your scent, and not the soaps, he could just be extra territorial, ive had many hamsters that they bite when they are in the cage, but are sweet little angels out of their cage. Just pick them up in a small jar or cup so he wont bite, you cant really tame a territorial hamster, but if you just keep at it, he should become nice

one other thing you can do, is get some of his bedding before you pick him up, and rub it on your hands so they smell familiar, that helps also

I have two dwarf hamsters that bite me all the time. I figured out that if I let them out of the cage for about 2 minutes and put them on the floor, they are awake (because I usually wake them up when they are sleeping!), and know what is going on. I can then usually pick them up without any biting, but, sometimes, they will bite. If you hamster is young, then it's VERY important to try try to handle them as much as you can. If you do this everyday, then they are used to you and won't bite as much when they are older. I hope that this helps, I know it did for me! Good Luck!

You need to pick up your hamster carefully and often to get him to trust you and not to bite. If your scared, wear a glove or use a small towel to pick him up. You could also put in a small container of some sort and coax your hamster into it and them lift it out.
Here is a good site about hamsters that you should read

Put a treat on your hand and hand feed your hamster he will love it! Keep on petting your hamster and eventually he will stop biting you and will be very sweet to you! That happened to me to! Just keep on petting your hamster and soon he will be very sweet and stop biting!

Firstly don't hold it to tight, hold it loosely and let it walk from one palm of your hand to the other. Try to pick it up often, so it can get use to being picked up and it can get use to your scent. My brother helped me tame my hamsters, and it takes a lot of time and patience and you will get bitten, but it's very rare they draw blood.

Good luck

Hope it helps

true..if he does bite tap him (very lightly ) the head.. if he is sleeping open the cage adn wait until he wakes up.. cause maybe he bites cause he is startled.
