the miracle we are all watching and waiting for. Before and after pics in some fundie church where a healing is performed and a new leg sprouts out. It doesnt happen. cancers get better because the immune system recognizes the tumor and kills it. there has never been claimed a cure of a disease that the human body could not have overcome by itself. ALS, cystic fibrosis none..............
pray for a cure for trisomy 21Down's syndrome and you get nothing.....

Isn't it funny that some people pray for their legs to come back when there have been no documented cases? Using the rational, intelligent reasoning skills you used in college, does that make any sense? It's similar to praying for you to win the lottery if you haven't even bought a ticket. In the case of amputated legs, there currently is no way for a doctor or anyone to 'grow' you a leg.
However, people could pray that they could use the condition that they are in to live life the best they can. There have been plenty of documented cases of people doing that. I guess people with no legs have two options. They could whine and even blame God for their condition or they could resolve to get on with their life. If they choose the former, they only have themselves to blame for their misery. If they choose the latter, their motivation could inspire somebody else to become a doctor and save hundreds of people's legs and more importantly, their lives.
You're trying to suggest that the reason that people don't pray for legs is because God doesn't exist. Just because God doesn't heal their legs doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Let me ask you something. If I asked you to snap your fingers, but you didn't, does that mean you do not exist? Of course not; it makes no sense. It's amazing that atheists try to define who God is and then use their own definition to prove he doesn't exist. You can find out all about God and his nature in the Bible. Sure, it's a big book, but God is multi-layered; certainly more than this question is.

I read a book by Frances Hunter. They were American evangelists preaching in South America. They were praying for a person and right before their eyes this persons thumb grew back. Another evangelist was praying for a little blind baby born without eyes. By the next day this baby had eyes that could see. God can grow limbs and anything else needed. I guess people don't pray for legs (or other things) because they don't believe that God can or will do this for them. In the near future we will hear of more of these types of miracles. They happen alot in other countries because medicine is not readily available to these people, so they do the best thing possible, pray.

Your question is nothing short of sadistic. No one knows what another person prays for.
Can you imagine how hurtful it is for amuptees to read your question? How would you feel if it was you. Of course, you can't imagine it.
I have seen a lot of insensitivity in here, and you are right up in the top 10.

At first I thought this question was a joke but I can see you are serious. I think many people don't have that much faith to think that God can or will do it for them. That is a class 3 miracle, to have a limb appear where there wasn't one. It takes great faith. I don't know for sure but maybe that's why.

Because Humans are not capable of regenerating limbs. We are not amphibians. It would be a waste of time to pray for the regeneration of legs, I think.

I know what you're trying to get at. You're trying to say that they don't because they know their prayer will not be answered, which either (a)makes God not all-powerful (b)makes God cruel because He does not grant such a prayer or (c)is some sort of proof that God does not exist.
Sorry, won't fall into that trap.

People don't grow legs. So they don't bother with praying.
