Not necessarily. In order to be forgiven of sin, a person needs to be "born again" in the spiritual sense. However, that does not mean that you are a failure as a human being. Non-believers can be very good human beings while here on earth but do not have the opportunity to go beyond earth when the time comes.
Although I know that many people seem to think that being "born again" is a kind of religious belief, in reality, it is not. It is simply the words used to describe what happens to an individual when they come to a personal relationship with God. We are "born again" in the sense that our sins are now forgiven and because of our relationship with God will change our lives accordingly to be a better reflection of Christ.

Jerry Falwell's dead now, so I guess he's a failure too, because he hasn't come back from the dead yet (although I hear Pat Robertson has been channeling him for weeks now).

Yeah... Well if ole Jerry is gunna be successful now he's really gunna need to be born again, isn't he? Last I've heard of him is, he died... and by the way, nobody's heard a peep from him since. I guess he wasn't much of an angel, was he?
