Why do Christians think it is necessary to preach to those that are not believers in Christ? You don't want people with other belief ideas shoving their thoughts in your face! Also, the Christ I know didn't do that, He loved people for who they were and where they were. He didn't argue with them, He taught, preached, and lived.
And to Athiests, I am sorry, on behalf of Christians, for the way in which we continue to bash your beliefs and thoughts in the exact same way we hate to be treated and told about our beliefs. On the other hand, for questions about the Bible and Christian beliefs, is it really necessary to blast Christianity and tell the person asking the question that the Bible is fake, God is not real, and make fun of his/her beliefs.
Can't this system of asking questions and providing answers for each other work for educational purposes as well as give people an opportunity to find real answers to their real questions?

Well..we fight for our beliefs because of the sinful nature inside ALL of us. We Christians "preach" because our Lord & God CALLS us to do that very thing! Mt 28:19 -Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ...
I actually LOVE to hear others ideas about their own beliefs & how they came to those conclusions. Howevere I also realize that I & my beliefs are NOT threated by their belief...so I don't NEED to "fight" with them. But I WILL at least try & get them to examine ALL the FACTS.
As for Christ not argueing...are you kidding?...you HAVE read your Bible right?...He was always in the middle of the "controversy!"
While I appreciate that you are trying to be very conscientious & "loving"..not all Christians "bash" & most that do..I would question whether or not they are REAL Christians!
People will ALWAYS make fun or or "bash" the things that they are either ignorant of..or afraid of...it is in the sinful nature to do so...& cannot be changed until the Redeemer comes.
As for your last statement about the Q & A system...yeppers that would be great...but most (though NOT ALL ) ppl are just too lazy to seek any real truthful answers as that takes time & effort!

First off we are told to go out and make disciples of all nations. Now I personally prefer to use St Francis idea of this" Preach the Gospel daily and if necessary use words". But others don't When I asked for simple respectful dialog on here I received comments from some that they were suspicious. There are some here who are merely here to bait other people They show no respect for others beliefs. They don't have to agree merely be respectful in their answers.

I'm a Christian here who doesn't jam my beliefs down anybody's throats at all. Unfortunately there are people on all sides and groups who lack respect for one another. But then again religion as well as politics tend to bring out all sorts of emotions out of people. I don't spend a lot of time in this section because of some of the things that I see here. I come in and I'll maybe throw a couple of questions out there and answer a couple of questions and then I'm out of here. Oh well now I'll leave this section and go to the Polls and Surveys section or somewhere else.

I am a Christian, and I'm with you. It doesn't matter what someone believes, everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and it goes both ways. I say it over and over, civil discussion with an open mind is the only good way to talk about this. Anyone, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Atheist, Agnostic, Wiccan, fill in the blank, should both treat others with respect and be treated with respect.
"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Romans 12:14-18 NIV.
I think we could all learn from the wisdom in this passage.

Yes. I really appreciate your posting this question. Thank you. Also, sorry, but I have to say this. When you said "He loved people for who they were and where they were. He didn't argue with them, He taught, preached, and lived," I couldn't help but think of Revelation 21:8 and the book of leviticus. Yeah, Christians don't appreciate witchcraft or pagans or anything, but I truly hope that has changed in the average Christian's eye.

i totally agree. i recently converted to Taoism b/c i was fed up with the hypocrisy of both Christians and atheists. Taoism is an atheistic religion that teaches complete tolerance and acceptance of others' beleifs. It also completely bans direct evangelism so I don't go around forcing what i believe on them.
here is how i feel about Christian bashing. Most Christians would die for what they believe. If someone were to hold a gun to a christian's head and say "denounce Christ or die" alot of people would rather die. Why would anyone dare call that stupid? He would die for what he believes in. I call that noble. I may not believe in what he is dying for, but he does, so let him believe it.

They fight because that's what religion was created for. If they can keep us divided we can never grow and learn and heal all our problems. Doesn't everyone know what idiots we all look like fighting over literally nothing?Going to war over literally nothing? We all need to get out of our comfy little religious boxes and see the big picture for the first time in our lives. Things sure look a lot different from out here.

I hate Christianity, it is more than just a belief. It has been responsible for millions of death and stupefy millions more. I wish it was wiped off the earth. The deaths are A #1, and when you start teaching that evolution is a lie (not to mention other things), it makes the US look stupider than we already look.

Christ appears to His disciples
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
As you can see, we Christians have been commanded by Christ to "teach all nations". You can't be a Christian and ignore this.

We tried asking serious questions last year and the fun dumb mentals tried to report everybody off of the site and claim it as a Christian Nationalist site.
You try asking serious questions about any religion and see just what happens.
The Fundies will hunt your account and try their best to kill it, crying about how they are persecuted against the whole time they are doing it.
