It's generally pronounced in English as if it were "ing" but in Cantonese it's more like "uhng", i.e., just the "ng" sound with no vowel in front of it. And yes, in Mandarin the same name is pronounced and written "Wu".

It makes the same sound as it does at the end of the word "thing".
Go to iTunes. Search for a song called "Ana Ng" and listen to the pronunciation there.
(You think that's a tough one, try pronouncing "Nguyen")
