Hi, I'm just your regular Linux newbee and im just asking if these pathetic specs on my old Acer laptop will do good on Fedora 7: AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.6 Ghz/ 256 RAM and running on and old Acer Aspire 3000. Please give me your honest answer. Thank You.

More than enough to run. You might want a little more ram but what you have is fine. Unlike some OS's Linux runs very well on less.

I have loaded Fedora 6 on a 600mhz machine with 256 and use it as a file server.... works great.

The only thing you really need to check since you have a laptop is what video is in use. You can check it against the Hardware list on the Fedora Support site. Most are fine but there are some video systems that just don't work right..

Get the LIVE CD and try it before you install.. it will let you know very quickly if everything is good to go without installing to your hard drive.
