GOD EXISTS! and every last one of these respondents know this without a tinge of doubt. They are all sincere seekers seeking to know the God they are apparently running from. They are all in denial of God and running like Jonah. They have been swallowed up by false sciences and gnostic thought that they can't seem to dig themselves out of the hole because of their degrees. God is in pursuit and many will come to God repenting and crying out "What must I do to be saved"? Believe, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. John 1:12.

I'm a Taoist (an atheistic religion). Does that make me less intelligent than you Mr. Rocket Scientist? Show me scientific proof of God's existence then I'll believe. Show me indisputable proof, not all this "look at nature" excuses that get thrown around.

Why hate someone because they believe differently than you? Why do you insult me because I do not find the need to have a parent figure guiding my life? Just because you think you have the right way doesn't mean you have the right to call me an idiot, and that goes for everyone who answered with "you're right" or "I agree." Doesn't the Bible say "love one another" and also "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? I am sorry, sir, but it seems to me that by calling me prideful because I do not find a need in my life to believe in an omnipotent being that you are being prematurely judgmental--which is a sin.

Why are there so many people that DO believe in God?

You need to open your mind a bit to other perspectives and experiences.

The things you attribute to being the work of God can be explained in other ways as well.

Think of the classic nature vs. nurture debate. Both sides have seemingly valid points, and both sides offer 'proof' to show that they are correct, but neither one has been 100% proven as fact.

You should concentrate on your own religious/spirtual values and beliefs and not be concerned what others are thinking. If your belief system is the only right one, then it shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks because in the end, they can think whatever they want and only you know the truth. And if your belief system is the only right one, then whatever you believe will trump everything else.

It's a matter of conviction. While you inherit and assume beliefs without question, some of us have wondered about the truth, and some of us have found answers that may not make sense to you or others, but you must respect how others think. In any case, I am an atheist, and I consider myself more Christian than those who call themselves believers, because of the way I act.

Well, this particular rocket scientist is here to tell you that there's nothing in nature that makes anyone think there's a god - if you take a few science classes, as we rocket scientists have taken many of, you'll see it's actually rather straightforward and all comes as a result of basic physical laws.

Yes, I am proud of my accomplishments in astrophysics. Maybe it DOES take a rocket scientist to see there's no god after all, since that seems to have escaped you.

I understand what you are saying, but there will always be people who do not believe in God. Some people will not believe because they think that science has all the answers and God doesn't fit into science. Some will not believe because they have been hurt or disappointed and believe that if there were a God he would have not let that happen. Others just think that all religions are the same as old tales, like the tales of the Norse gods or Greek gods, or things like that. I am sure other folks will be able to tell you their own beliefs.

Because not many Christians out there, sad to say, are showing anything to this world that is worth convincing people to change their lives. There are way too many Christians who won't repent and come fully into the service of God but lead hypocritical lives and don't show that there is something good in Christianity.
Christianity has one of the worst reputations a religion can have historically. And most people don't realize that a lot of the people that make it look bad probably aren't real Christians. Satan has gotten a foothold in many Christians' lives and played the church for a fool.
I only wish that people will ignore the image of Christianity that they have built up on biases and prejudiced opinions and will look to Christ himself for an example. That is why it is important as Christians to take up our crosses and deny ourselves. Lives and eternities depend on it. It is our duty and responsibility. But it is to easy to follow the broad path of destruction nowadays.
I feel hypocritical for saying this myself because I know that I am not doing everything God wants me to myself.

A supreme being or "GOD" defies the laws of physics and science, and hundreds of thousands of people, have died and are still dying or being killed now due to the fact that religion exists. My choice is and always will be that if a God or a Supreme Being does exist, I don't care. And if it does NOT exist, then I still won't care. So basically, I don't care one way or another.

Or maybe you are too prejudiced to see where they're coming from, from the sound of it. People are sick of organized religion, and can you blame them for that? Between the Crusades, Salem Witch Trials, and laws against stem-cell research, Christianity, America's base faith, has done a lot to hurt society. Unfortunately, observers fail to seperate organized religion from faith, and so they give up on caring and become atheists.

It's much easier to believe in science and evolution than every culture out there has some all powerful god. I like reading books and thats what i see all these holy books as, old time movies and entertainment.
